  5.   Usage: FONTSPAN fontfile(s)
  6.  
  7. For each of the font files (wild cards ok) specified in the commnand line,
  8. FONTSPAN determines and prints the maximal and minimal rows of the fontnmatrix which are actually used by the font. FONTSPAN also prints the
  9. first boundary characters which give rise to these extermal values. This
  10. information can be used as a basis for a decision for trimming the font
  11. to its ``true'' height
  12.

  14.   -s         Th span information is printed only if it doesn't
  15.              match the font height as determined from file size
  16.
