  14.     I was a little surprised to find out a week ago that v2.30 of
  15. MS Kermit had gotten released in January -- not having heard from Joe
  16. since last summer.  Never-the-less a bit of fast keyboarding brought
  17. the NEC community back up to date.  The current version for the APCIII
  18. does everything the IBM one does -- including the Tektronix emulation --
  19. with the following elaborations:
  20.  
  21.     a)  The graphics are 640 x 400 in your choice of green, no
  22.     matter what the text screen color is.
  23.  
  24.     b)  The graphics are not saved during mode switch.
  25.  
  26.     c)  The function performed by Shift-Arrow during cursor control
  27.     is done by Control-Arrow on the NEC (shift arrow doesn't emit
  28.     a unique key code here).  I'm not sure this is even mentioned in
  29.     the manual, but the msg code made it clear.  Furthermore, the APCIII
  30.     use the "real" arrow keys for this function, not the 2-4-6-8 set.

  32. The remaining comments in the manual concerning the NEC APCIII implementation
  33. are still all correct.

  35.     The files for the APCIII implementation are available via anonymous
  36. ftp from SPACE.MIT.EDU in the "pub" directory as
  37.  
  38.     msgap3, msuap3, msxap3, msyap3, and mszap3.asm        for source
  39. and
  40.     msvap3.boo                        for executable

  42. or I can mail them to you, as you wish.  At the very least, we should get the
  43. old v2.28 version of Roger Link's out of circulation (which is what is
  44. currently held in the Columbia archives in spite of the 2.29 version being
  45. available 2 years ago).
