  5. This is to announce version 2.1 of Kermit for the Concurrent Computer
  6. Company (formerly called Perkin-Elmer) 3200 series under OS/32 7.2.1 and
  7. up, by Paul Mamelka, Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research,
  8. San Antonio, Texas.  The major changes from version 2.0 of June 1985 are:

  10. . Name change from Kermit-PE to Kermit-CO
  11. . Horrible bug fixed caused by type (RECKPT instead of RECPKT)
  12. . Minor bugs also fixed
  13. . First 3 letters of command or set option now sufficient for abbreviation
  14. . SYSIO style now controlled by parity setting
  15. . Selection of text, binary, contiguous file types
  16. . End of record selection for text file transmission
  17. . "File Warning" added (filename collision avoidance)
  18. . Initialization file
  19. . Automatic error logging

  21. The new files replace the old ones as PERKIN.* in the Kermit distribution
  22. (even though Paul sent them to us with the new prefix CON to denote the
  23. company name change).
