  1. Subject: Announcing Hebrew Kermit, a Test Version for the IBM PC

  4. This is to announce a beta-test (binaries only, no source) of MS-Kermit for
  5. the IBM PC, adapted for use with the Hebrew Alphabet, complete with
  6. right-to-left screen presentation, from Baruch Cochavy, IIT, Haifa, Israel,
  7. baruchc@techunix.bitnet.  The work is based on version 2.30 of MS-Kermit.
  8. Included are KERMITH.EXE, a "readme" file that explains some of the changes
  9. that were made, and a Unix termcap file.

  11. The program may also be used on non-Hebrew PC's, for those who enjoy reading
  12. English (or German, or French, etc) right to left.  The default mode of
  13. operation is left to right, so say "SET TERMINAL DIRECTION RIGHT" to get the
  14. new perspective.

  16. The files are collected into a single file, MSTIBH.BOO, which in turn contains
  17. an .ARC file which can be dearchived using PKXARC.  Thanks to Baruch for

  19. address noted above, and perhaps this new directional capability can become
  20. an integral part of MS-Kermit.
