  14.    You may recall there was a discrepancy between the version of TSNKER
  15. that showed up on KERMSRV and the one I got directly from Roger Fajman.
  16. I don't remember exactly what characters were involved, but the upshot
  17. was that certain characters were consistantly translated into something
  18. else.  Again, as I recall, the method of loading those files had been to
  19. read a tape at CUVMA, then transfer the files to CU20B, and finally load
  20. the files back onto KERMSRV.  Clearly, the two translations were not
  21. mutual inverses.  I have discovered an instance of the same problem in
  22. MT2KER as well, this time mapping "!" into "]" and "|" into "!".  If the
  23. problem has already been solved, then forget I mentioned it.  If not, I
  24. would recommend looking back to see which EBCDIC Kermits came in on tape
  25. and whether they use any of the dangerous characters |!{}[]^~...  As for
  26. MT2KER, I have been assured that the version on KERMSRV is now obsolete
  27. anyway, so maybe it doesn't matter.
