Frank,
You may recall there was a discrepancy between the version of TSNKER
that showed up on KERMSRV and the one I got directly from Roger Fajman.
I don't remember exactly what characters were involved, but the upshot
was that certain characters were consistantly translated into something
else. Again, as I recall, the method of loading those files had been to
read a tape at CUVMA, then transfer the files to CU20B, and finally load
the files back onto KERMSRV. Clearly, the two translations were not
mutual inverses. I have discovered an instance of the same problem in
MT2KER as well, this time mapping "!" into "]" and "|" into "!". If the
problem has already been solved, then forget I mentioned it. If not, I
would recommend looking back to see which EBCDIC Kermits came in on tape
and whether they use any of the dangerous characters |!{}[]^~... As for
MT2KER, I have been assured that the version on KERMSRV is now obsolete
anyway, so maybe it doesn't matter.
