  2. Using this option you can specify the
  3. file(s) you wish to ADD to the
  4. compressed file. You may enter multiple
  5. filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  6. cards are allowed for filenames and
  7. extensions.
  8.  
  9. *alta  !!add-from-list!!
  10. This option allows you to ADD files into
  11. the compressed by displaying a list of
  12. files in a window.  After the window is
  13. displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  14. pressing the space bar.  After all files
  15. have been tagged press the ENTER key to
  16. process the tagged files.
  17.  
  18. *altc  !!add/update comments!!
  19. This option will allow you to add or
  20. update the compressed file comments.
  21.  
  22. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  23. This option will delete all files that
  24. are contained in the compressed file
  25. from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  26. one specified via the ALT-P command.
  27.  
  28. *alte  !!extract list!!
  29. This option allow you to specify which
  30. files to extract from the compressed
  31. file. You may specify more the one
  32. filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  33. cards are allowed.
  34.  
  35. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  36. This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  37. in the compressed by displaying a list
  38. of files in a window.  After the window
  39. is displayed you tag the files to
  40. FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  41. After all files have been tagged press
  42. the ENTER key to process the tagged
  43. files.
  44.  
  45. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  46. This option allows you to MOVE files
  47. into the compressed by displaying a list
  48. of files in a window.  After the window
  49. is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  50. by pressing the space bar.  After all
  51. files have been tagged press the ENTER
  52. key to process the tagged files.
  53.  
  54. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  55. This options allows you to specify a
  56. disk and directory of where any
  57. extracted files will be placed.  Specify
  58. the extract path as follows:
  59. DISK:\DIRECTORY Pressing any key other
  60. than the ENTER key will clear the
  61. extract path.
  62.  
  63. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  64. Speed search allows you to find a file
  65. in the compressed file quickly.  After
  66. the window pops up enter the first
  67. character of the file you wish to find.
  68. The display will be repositioned to the
  69. first file in the list that starts with
  70. that letter. (NOTE since files are
  71. stored in random order sort the list
  72. first)
  73.  
  74. *altx  !!extract all!!
  75. This option will extract ALL files from
  76. the compressed file into the current
  77. DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  78. the ALT-P command.
  79.  
  80. *c  !!create-new!!
  81. This will allow you to create a NEW
  82. compressed file.  You will be prompted
  83. to enter the
  84. DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  85. compressed file to create, whether you
  86. want to add or move files into the new
  87. compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  88. of the files to add and/or move to the
  89. new compressed file.
  90. YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  91. FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  92. ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP AND ARC FILES!!!

  94. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  95. This option will delete all tagged files
  96. from the compressed file.  You will be
  97. asked to verify the delete before the
  98. files are actually deleted from the
  99. compressed file.
  100.  
  101. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  102. This option will extract all tagged
  103. files from the compressed file.
  104.  
  105. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  106. This option will set the compressed
  107. file's time and date to the time and
  108. date corresponding to the newest file in
  109. the compressed file.
  110.  
  111. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  112. This option will untag all currently
  113. tagged files.
  114.  
  115. *d  !!delete one file!!
  116. This option will delete the currently
  117. highlighted file from the compressed
  118. file. You will be asked to verify the
  119. delete before the delete is actually
  120. done.
  121.  
  122. *e  !!extract one file!!
  123. This option will extract the currently
  124. highlighted file onto the default disk
  125. drive and directory, or the
  126. DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  127. the ALT-P command.
  128.  
  129. *f      !!freshen!!
  130. Using this option you can specify the
  131. file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  132. compressed file. You may enter multiple
  133. filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  134. cards are allowed for filenames and file
  135. extensions.
  136.  
  137. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  138. This option will temporarily exit to
  139. DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  140. command.  To return to SHEZ
  141. enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  142. the return key.
  143.  
  144. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  145. This option prompts for a new
  146. DRIVE:\PATH to change to.  You may also
  147. specify a filename and file extension if
  148. you wish. Wild card in the name and
  149. extension are allowed.
  150. IF YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  151. EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY
  152. THE ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  153. SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.

  155.  
  156. *f8  !!edit!!
  157. This option will allow you to edit a
  158. file in the compressed file.  This
  159. option will only work if you specified
  160. an editor to use when you configured
  161. compressedPER.
  162.  
  163. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  164. Using this option you can specify how
  165. you want the compressed files sorted on
  166. the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  167. Extension, or Date.
  168.  
  169. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  170. These options allow you to set the
  171. compression factor that will be used by
  172. the ZIP program.  You may choose a
  173. factor for ASCII files and one for
  174. BINARY files.  If you are using version
  175. .92 or greater of PKZIP you may choose
  176. one of the Maximize options listed
  177. instead of choosing the ASCII or BINARY
  178. compression factor options.

  189. ALT-R  = Reread the directory.
  190. ALT-V  = Convert highlighted ARC file to

  192. CTL-V  = Convert all tagged ARC files to
  193.          compressed files.

  200. Enter  = If highlighted item is a directory

  206. This option allows you to specify the password
  207. to be used by the compression program.  If the
  208. compression program does not support passwords
  209. an error window will appear informing you that
  210. the option is not supported.

  213. This option will show information about
  214. the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  215. files in file, total size of all files,
  216. time and date of compressed file, etc.

  218. *m     !!mode!!
  219. Using this option you can specify the
  220. file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  221. compressed file. You may enter multiple
  222. filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  223. cards are allowed for filenames and
  224. extensions.

  248. R     = Run the highlighted file
  249. Z     = SPECIFY compressed FILE MASK
  250. I     = Show info about archive file
  251. F9    = Sort archive listing
  252. ALT-S = Speed search
  253. F2    = Switch to another arc or Directory
  254. F10   = Temporary exit to DOS
  255. T     = Test archive integrity
  256. O     = Toggle overwrite for extract
  257. SPACE = Toggle tag status
  258. CTL-U = Untag all files
  259. ALT-U = Update a list of files
  260. CLT-T = Update archive file time&date
  261. U     = Update file in archive
  262. V|RET = View the file

  264. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  265. This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  266. overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  267. will appear in the upper right corner of
  268. the compressed display heading line.
  269. When overwrite is active the uncompress
  270. pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  271. overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  272. extract a file from the compressed file.
  273.  
  274. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  275. This option will immediately exit
  276. SHEZ.
  277.  
  278. *r  !!run a file!! This option will
  279. extract and run the highlighted EXE or
  280. COM file.  You will be prompted to enter
  281. the optional command line parameters
  282. that the program may need.  When the
  283. program ends the extracted file will be
  284. deleted.

  287. *t  !!test compressed!!
  288. This option will test the integrity of
  289. the compressed file.
  290.  
  291. *u       !!update!!
  292. Using this option you can specify the
  293. file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  294. compressed file. You may enter multiple
  295. filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  296. cards are allowed for filenames and file
  297. extensions.
  298.  
  299. *v  !!view!!
  300. This option will allow you to view the
  301. contents of a file in the compressed
  302. file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  303. to view the file.
  304.  
  305. *z  !!mask!!
  306. This option allows you to specify a file
  307. mask to be used when displaying the
  308. contents of a compressed file.  For
  309. example if you specify a mask of *.C
  310. only the files having an extension of C
  311. will be displayed on the screen.

  313. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  314. This option will delete all files that
  315. have been tagged in the file window.
  316. After all the files are deleted the file
  317. window will be refreshed.
  318.  
  319. *mf3  !!view file!!
  320. This option allows you to view the
  321. highlighted file.

  323. *mf4  !!delete file!!
  324. This option allows you to delete the
  325. highlighted file.  You will be prompted
  326. to verify the delete.

  329. This option will display the highlighted
  330. file's time,date,and size.

  332. *mf6  !!file sort!!
  333. This option will sort the file list by
  334. name in ascending order.

  337. This option will sort the file list by
  338. extension in ascending order.

  340. *malt-v  !!convert one file!!
  341. This option will convert the highlighted
  342. ARC file into a ZIP file or the ZIP file
  343. into an ARC file. The original file will
  344. not be deleted.

  346. *mctl-v  !!convert tagged!!
  347. This option will convert all the tagged
  348. ARC files into ZIP file and all tagged
  349. ZIP files into ARC files. The original
  350. files will not be deleted.

  352. *malt-r  !!reread directory!!
  353. This option will reread the current
  354. directory and refresh the displayed file
  355. list.
  356.  
  357. *malt-w  !!write cfg file!!
  358. This option will write the current SHEZ
  359. configuration options out to a file
  360. named SHEZ.CFG.  The file will be written
  361. to the current disk:\directory.  This file
  362. will be used by the SHEZCFG program to set
  363. the default SHEZ program options when you
  364. configure SHEZ.
  365.  
  366. *print !!help for print!!
  367. This option will print the currently
  368. highlighted file.  If you are working
  369. with an ARC file output will always go
  370. to the DOS PRN device.
