>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Multi-Edit DEMO version 3.01b <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
****************** Installing the Multi-Edit demo *********************
To best utilize the demo, copy all files onto a separate subdirectory on
your hard disk.
*********************** Running on a Floppy ***************************
If you are running the demo off of a 360k floppy disk, you will probably
get an "out of disk space error" when trying to do a "Save Settings" from the
"Install" menu. You will need to either install the demo on your hard disk,
or delete this file and the ME.HLP (help) file from the disk. The files
PASCAL.MAC and C.MAC are also optional, as they are specific to the PASCAL
and C languages.
********************** Configuration Defaults *************************
Mouse support is disabled.
EMS use is disabled.
Enhanced keyboard support is disabled. Enable from the command line with "/E".
*********************** Command Line Options **************************
You may load multiple files from the command line. DOS wildcard characters
are allowed.
Envoking the demo with "/?" on the command line will bring up a list of all of
the command line options.
*********************** Dos Versions below 3.0 ************************
If you are using a 2.xx version of MS/PCDOS, you need to type the following
command at the DOS prompt, or put it in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file and reboot:
SET ME_PATH=path
where 'path' is the full path to find Multi-Edit. (SET ME_PATH=C:\ME)
Also, if you are running under DOS 2.xx, enabling mouse support when a mouse
drive has not been loaded into the system may lock up your system.
************************ Language Support *****************************
Due to disk space limitations, we can no longer provide, in the demo, all of
the language specific support that we do in the full product. C and Pascal
are supported by the demo. The full product supports C, Pascal, dBASE,
Modula-2 and the Multi-Edit Macro Language. Others are on the way. If you
wish to obtain any of the language support macros not provided with the demo,
feel free to access our bulletin board system and download them. The number
is (602) 968-1082.
*************************** Problems **********************************
If you are having serious problems getting the demo to run, give us a
call at (602) 968-1945 and we will try to get you up and running.
