FUNCTION 1 KEY
SHELL [Ctrl]+[F1]: [Ctrl]+[F1] will take you instantly to the
operating program, the Appraiser remains loaded in memory. You
will be able to access normal DOS functions and/or load and run
another program. To return to the Appraiser, simply type the
"EXIT" at the DOS prompt. You will be returned to the Appraiser
at the same spot you were before.
SETUP [Shift]+[F1]: [Shift]+[F1] allows the System Menu to go to
the Setup Menu. You may change colors, printer selection, etc.
from this menu.
[Alt]+[F1]: At this time, the [Alt]+[F1] key is not being
used.
CANCEL [F1]: [F1] cancels the operation currently underway and
returns to previous function. This is not a "pause" in the
operation, but a complete stop. For example, if you are editing
a field, and you see that you don't like what you've put in, hit
F1, and the field returns to how it was before you began your
editing.
FUNCTION 2 KEY
[F2]: At this time, the [F2] key is not being used.
FUNCTION 3 KEY
[Ctrl]+[F3]: At this time, the [Ctrll]+[F3] key is not being
used.
SWITCH [Shift]+[F3]: [Shift]+[F3] will switch you between the
current form and attachment sheets.
[Alt]+[F3]: At this time, the [Alt]+[F3] key is not being
used.
HELP [F3]: If an explanation or assistance is necessary for a
field or function, strike the [F3] key. A Help menu will be given
to assist you.
FUNCTION 4 KEY
[F4]: At this time, the [F4] key is not being used.
FUNCTION 5 KEY
[Ctrl]+[F5]: At this time, the [Ctrl]+[F5] key is not being
used.
[Shift]+[F5]: At this time, the [Shift]+[F5] key is not being
used.
[Alt]+[F5]: At this time, the [Alt]+[F5] key is not being
used.
DIRECTORY/LIST FILES [F5]: A directory listing is obtained by
striking [F5]. You will get a listing for the drive/directory you
are working with.
FUNCTION 6 KEY
[Ctrl]+[F6]: At this time, the [Ctrl]+[F6] key is not being
used.
[Shift]+[F6]: At this time, the [Shift]+[F6] key is not being
used.
[Alt]+[F6]: At this time, the [Alt]+[F6] key is not being
used.
EDIT FIELD [F6]: F6 allows the entering of data into a field by
moving to the appropriate field and entering the data desired.
Editing can be initiated without disburbing previous data by
striking [F6] first. You will immediately be placed in edit mode
without disturbing the previous entry.
FUNCTION 7 KEY
[Ctrl]+[F7]: At this time, the [Ctrl]+[F7] key is not being used.
PRINT [Shift]+[F7]: [Shift]+[F7] prints the current form. Text
attachments to the form will also be printed automatically.
[Alt]+[F7]: At this time, the [Alt]+[F7] key is not being
used.
EXIT [F7]: This is used, per the notations at the bottom of each
screen, to exit from a particular screen or function or the program
itself. Literally means "done."
FUNCTION 8 KEY
[F8]: At this time, the [F8] key is not being used.
FUNCTION 9 KEY
[Ctrl]+[F9]: At this time, the [Ctrl]+[F9] key is not being
used.
[Shift]+[F9]: At this time, the [Shift]+[F9] key is not being
used.
GRAPHICS [Alt]+[F9]: [Alt]+[F9] switches to graphics draw mode.
(Note: A CGA or higher resolution graphics video card is required
for this function.)
CALCULATE [F9]: [F9] will calculate all formulas and place the
results of those calculations in their appropriate pre-determined
locations on the forms. Duplicate text will also be carried from
its first occurrence to all matching fields. You may modify data
once it has been calculated/carried. We suggest you do this after
you are finished calculating as the data will be replaced on each
calculation.
FUNCTION 10 KEY
[Ctrl]+[F10]: At this time, the [Ctrl]+[F10] key is not being
used.
RETRIEVE [Shift]+[F10]: When you know the exact name of the file
you want to place up on the screen, it can be retrieved by hitting
the [Shift]+[F10] combination. You will be asked for the name of
the file to be retrieved. Type that in, hit "Enter," and your file
will appear on the screen.
SAVE [F10]: [F10] frequently saves work in progress. [F10] saves
all work in the current form. Use it often. This ensures that in
the event of, for example, a power failure, the amount of lost work
will be minimized. You will be shown the current file name (if
any). You may change the name at that point if you desire or
simply hit enter to save under that name.
[Alt]+[F10]: At this time, the [Alt]+[F10] key is not being
used.
ADDITIONAL KEY FUNCTIONS AVAILABLE
ENTER: Use depends on context of the program: Menus and multiple
choice fields = "select" or "this one" Numeric, Date, and
Alphanumeric Fields = "enter" and retain data. Text/Comment = "end
of paragraph" (Note: use the arrow keys to navigate through your
form, and use the Enter key as described above.)
DIRECTION KEYS:
Left Arrow: Will move the cursor one column/prompt/field
to the left.
Right Arrow: Same as left arrow, only to the right.
Down Arrow: Moves the cursor to the next
prompt/field/line following the one it's in.
Up Arrow: Moves the cursor to the previous
prompt/field/line. Works the same as the down arrow,
going through the entire screen backwards to the top,
then jumps to the very end.
[PgUp]: Previous screen/page.
[PgDn]: Next screen/page.
[Home]: Moves to first prompt/field.
[End]: Moves to last prompt/field
GOTO [Ctrl]+[Home]: Goes directly to a given screen. You will be
asked which screen you would like to go to. Enter the number of
the screen desired and hit enter.
