I am a member of the Capital Heath User's Group (CHUG). In their monthly mag,
>CHUG, for October, 1986, was a special column: "The Dirty Dozen Issue #6".
It is a list of some of the currently known Trojan Horse programs. There is
more description than the names, but I'a not that good a typist. The list was
picked up from DIANA, the Naval Aviation Bulletin Board.
Also included was a list of Pirated programs that may be on Boards - two pages
of stolen programs under disguised names. If you are a SYSOP, I'll copy this
and mail it to you. I will also try to get an electronic copy of the article
and upload it.
List of *TROJAN* horse programs:
ARC513.EXE
BALKTALK.*
DISKSCAN.EXE
DOSKNOWS.EXE
EGABTR.*
FILER.EXE
QUICKREF.ARC
QUIKRBBS.COM - Steals the RBBS passwords
SECRET.BAS
STRIPES.EXE - Steals the RBBS password file (RBBS-PC.DEF)
VDI.COM
Some of these programs names used to belong to useful, legitimate programs.
If Uncle Ronnie can finally get worked up about drugs, perhaps he can help
Congress get tough with this brand of 'Illegal Entry'. At the very least,
this should be coverable under the idea of attractive nuisance. If only
we could catch the '-------'s.
