IBM NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON EBBS

Today, April 2, 1987, IBM announces IBM Personal System/2(TM), a
new family of systems with enhanced displays and adapters,
expanded communications and network adapters, expanded memory
adapters, new features and input output devices; an enhanced
version of the IBM Disk Operating System, and new software
support for host terminal emulation, networking and
communications. New applications are also being announced.
IBM is also announcing Operating System/2, a new
comprehensive operating system which includes a Presentation
Manager, a Communications Manager, and a Database Manager.
Operating System/2 is backed by a three month warranty, and
a central service support program.
These systems, along with IBM's options, including new
monochrome and color monitors, expanded memory adapters,
personal printers, an optical disk drive, tape backup,
connectivity cards, and many more, are designed to meet
computing needs, now and for many years to come.

The IBM PC User Group Support Electronic Bulletin Board System (EBBS),
located in Boca Raton, Florida, can be used to obtain all announcement
information about IBM Personal Computer products.
The system is available to all users 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
To allow multiple users to access the system at the same time, the
Electronic Bulletin Board System consists of ten IBM Personal Computer
XTs connected to a Personal Computer AT using the IBM PC Network.
Everyone is welcome to access the system by calling 305-998-EBBS using
their PC and an attached modem.
The IBM PC User Group Support Electronic Bulletin Board System can be
called using most communications programs (such as IBM's Personal
Communications Manager, PC-TALK, QMODEM, PC-DIAL, etc.). To use the
EBBS:
Set your program with the following parameters:
o 300, 1200 or 2400 baud
o 7 data bits, even parity, 1 stop bit
or
8 data bits, no parity, one stop bit
(for binary data transmission)
o Dial 305-998-EBBS.
o Enter your name as prompted.
You will be asked to enter your name and where you are calling from.
Once your session has begun, you will be guided through a series of
command menus. Each command in a menu may be selected by pressing one
of the keys shown in brackets.
