At the end of the 13th and in the 14th century, very elegant wine glasses imitating the style of the Gothic were used in Western Europe. They had a wide foot, a very tall and slender stem and a bowl usually decorated with vertical ribs. These wine glasses were common in Western Europe, and most of them were produced in the valleys of the Rhine and the Meuse in western Germany, northern France and the Netherlands. In the North the tall-stemmed wine glasses were included in the very small imports of western glass. There are two finds from Sweden, the other one of them from L├╢d├╢se. The bluish-green goblet of L├╢d├╢se has probably been produced in northern France or Wallonie.
