  11.    I have been using PC-TALK III for several months now, and have a few 
  12. comments that may help beginning users.
  13.  
  14.    First, one topic that isn't specifically covered in the documentation 
  15. (at least not where I can find it) is how to do a disk directory of the 
  16. "Logged" drive (normally drive B:).   The easiest way I've found to get a 
  17. directory is to enter <ALT> V, then when it asks you for a filespec answer 
  18. with a ? (question mark) and then hit <RETURN>.   You will then get a 
  19. listing of the programs on the Logged drive.   You can also answer with a 
  20. question mark after entering <ALT> T (for transmit a file), or <ALT> D 
  21. (for delete a file).

  23.    The FUNCTION keys can be programmed using the <ALT> K command on PC-TALK. 
  24. I have mine programmed that if I hit F1 thru F10, it will respond with 
  25. often-used things such as my name & passwords, and also often used commands 
  26. such as "HELP".   Also, if I hit <ALT> F1 thru F10, I can access commands 
  27. to directly control my Hayes, such as ATA, ATH, ATZ, etc.   In addition, I 
  28. have access to my CompuServe account number and commands such as 
  29. "GO CIS 131" by hitting <CTRL> F1 thru F10.

  31.    If you have the file PCDIRSRT.EXE, you can use it to sort the PC-TALK 
  32. dialing directory into alphbetical order.   I like to keep my BBS numbers 
  33. at the start of the dialing directory, and keep the numbers of friends 
  34. with modems at the end of the list.   I found a way to do this, and yet 
  35. still use PCDIRSRT to sort the directory.   I enter the names of the 
  36. BBS's on my dialing directory in upper case, and the names of friends in 
  37. lower case.   Since lower case letters follow upper case in the ASCII code 
  38. listing, the names of BBS's and friends automatically separate themselves 
  39. during the sort instead of getting mixed together.
