- The following list describes both BBS (bulletin board system) and CCS
- (computer conferencing system) software.

- BBS's frequently include conferencing (categorized message posting and
- exchanging), but CCS's frequently do not include other BBS features (like
- program download, etc.). The message keyword-search and editing features
- on CCS's, however, are frequently considerably more extensive than on BBS's.

- Conferencing in the sense of near real-time online chatting (as on Compu-
- Serve's CB Simulator or People/Link's Party Line) is referred to below as
- chatting.

- for academic environments and written in
- Turbo Pascal. Described in BYTE Mag,

- processor Assoc. Chairman is based on DMA's Ascom IV
- [1,5] 545 Fifth Ave. communications software and script
- Suite 1103 language (which includes a multi-
- New York, NY 10017 tasking executive). PC Magazine reader
- 212/687-7115 service uses this system. Network
- version projected for March. Price:

- GalactiComm BBS Galacticomm, Inc. Supports multi-user use of all BBS

- 305/472-9560 C source code for a BBS system is
- available. Price: $2200 - $4500 for
- 4-user version (includes Xecom card
- and free C code).

- MultiLink BBS Software Link Part of MultiLink Advanced 4.0
- 8601 Dunwoody Pl. multi-user, multi-tasking software.
- Suite 632 Runs in a 128K partition of MS-DOS.
- Atl., GA 30338 User friendly, but very limited in most
- 404/998-0700 BBS functions (does include msgs and
- file upload/download). Price of
- MultiLink 4.0 is $495.

- PC-Board Clark Development "Derived" from RBBS-PC. Like the
- P.O. Box 71365 public domain RBBS, this is one of the
- Murray, UT 84107 more widely used IBM-PC oriented BBS
- 801/964-6692 systems. Thru version 10 PC-Board was
- public-domain. Version 11.x is $80 and
- up, depending on number of nodes and
- support.

- TBBS e-Soft Business-oriented BBS system, one of the
- 4100 S. Parker first available commercially. Multi-
- [1] Suite 305 line version based on DigiCom card
- Aurora, CO 80014 projected for June, 1987. Price: $299
- 303/699-6565 for single user, $895 for multi-user.

- TEAMate MMB Development Multi-user system that runs under Xenix
- 735 Deep Valley and includes modules for BBS, CCS, Unix
- Rolling Hills Est. Mail, MCI Mail, distributed database,
- CA 90274 Lyrix interface, etc. Supports as many
- 213-541-4504 users as your Xenix does. Price: $495
- for basic BBS module up to $2495 for
- all modules.
