  7. This Sampler is designed to run on computers running Windows 95 which
  8. have at least 8 megabytes of memory and a double speed CD ROM drive.
  9. It will work with a 640x480 pixels 256 colour display. For better 
  10. QuickTime quality it is advisable to switch to thousands of colours 
  11. if your computer supports it.
  12.  
  13. Please note that the full release disc will also be compatible with
  14. Windows 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups.

  18. INSTALLATION
  19.  
  20. 1. From the 'Start' menu, select 'Run...'.
  21.  
  22. 2. Type D:\ANGLIA\SETUP.EXE and press RETURN or click OK 
  23.    (substitute another drive letter if the CD ROM is not in drive D.)
  24.    
  25. 3. Select 'Install'. The system will set up a Windows Group called 
  26.    'Anglia Multimedia'.

  30. RUNNING THE PROGRAM

  32. Click on the 'Start' icon and access the 'Programs submenu'. Then from
  33. the 'Anglia Multimedia' submenu click on the 'Egyptians Sampler' icon.

  37. CONDITIONS OF USE
  38.  
  39. This sampler is licensed for single machine use only.  It is not licensed 
  40. for use across a network.  It is not licensed for use in educational 
  41. establishments. Users may make copies of text and picture resources from the 
  42. full release CD-ROM for their own home use only provided that such copies 
  43. shall not be made available to any other persons. The video clips and 
  44. sound samples must NOT be extracted from this sampler or run from any 
  45. other medium. Full details of the licence and the copyright for the full
  46. release disc are given in the booklet supplied with the disc.

  49. TROUBLESHOOTING
  50.  
  51. This section is designed to help users who experience difficulty using
  52. the sampler.
  53.  
  54.  
  55. Q) When I run the program I get the error 'QuickTime does not appear
  56. to be installed'.
  57.  
  58. A) Check that you chose to update your QuickTime installation
  59. when running SETUP.EXE. If you did not, restart your computer
  60. and install the disc again electing to update your QuickTime
  61. installation. If you still get the error, try installing 
  62. QT32.EXE within this directory and running the disc again
  63.  
  64.  
  65. Q) The audio seems to play at the wrong pitch and/or plays unreliably.
  66.  
  67. A) You need to disable the Quicktime automatic rate adjustment
  68. feature as follows:
  69.  
  70. i) Click on the 'Start' icon and select the 'Control Panel' icon from
  71. 'Settings' submenu. 
  72.  
  73. ii) Double click on the 'QuickTime' icon.
  74.  
  75. iii) Click on the 'More' button.
  76.  
  77. iv) Click on the 'Audio' tab.
  78.  
  79. v) Uncheck the 'Automatic Rate Adjustment' box.

  81. vi) Click on 'Apply'.

  83. vii) Click on 'Close'.

  85. viii) Restart your computer and run the sampler again.
