Transcription: In every country and in every culture people have used dance. It started off as ritual to worship gods, chase away evil spirits or celebrate special days. In every case the music, rhythm and movement go together to express an idea or a story. Dance is choreographed when it is planned and written down. In classical ballet the choreographed movement is strictly controlled. But in modern dance the body is allowed allowed to move more freely to express emotions, dance is a language that uses movement for words.
