One of the best qualities of the MS-DOS operating system is its flexibility. The way your system is configured often affects the performance of software programs. Your new M.O.S.T. disc is programmed to take advantage of a variety of system configurations. The following are suggestions for improving the speed and performance of the DOS version of the M.O.S.T. software:
-- Install the software onto your hard drive. This reduces the time spent accessing information from the CD-ROM disc.
-- If you install the program onto your hard drive, use a disk cache (for example, Microsoft SmartDrive).
-- Configure your system to use expanded memory. The software automatically takes advantage of up to 400K of expanded memory when it is available.
-- Use your system's extended memory. To use extended memory, type CNM /e at the command line when loading the program.
NOTE: The M.O.S.T. software will not use extended memory if expanded memory is available.
NOTE: Using extended memory may conflict with older programs that also use this type of memory. If you experience problems with the /e option, remove all device drivers and TSRs that use extended memory.
