  1. MAJESTIC DOMINION 1.1 Shareware--Game by Nathan Stoll

  3. IMPORTANT!!  READ THIS BEFORE PLAYING!!!

  5. Warning--Use at your own risk!!(just a legal precaution.)

  7. MENUS
  8.  Right after the program's intro, you are automatically placed into 
  9. the main menu. There are two menus, accessed using the right and left 
  10. arrow keys. Inside the menus, move between items using the vertical
  11. arrow keys. To use menu items, move the cursor to the menu item, hit 
  12. the space bar or enter, and the option will change or bring up a sub menu.
  13. Some of the menu options include: 
  14. MENU #1:(the main menu) 
  15.  Continue Game:
  16.    Transfers control to the game board.
  17.  New Game: 
  18.    Re-initializes the game by placing pieces in their starting positions.
  19.  How To Play:
  20.    A quick overview of game rules.
  21.  About:
  22.    Copyright and version info.
  23.  Quit:
  24.    Exits the game.
  25. MENU #2:(the options menu)
  26.  Board Design:
  27.    A sub menu giving the user choices over board style.
  28.  Color Scheme:
  29.    A sub menu allowing the user to select between different pre-set colors.
  30.  Palette:
  31.    An item with two modes: "on" and "off." The Palette rotates the on screen
  32.    colors, making the board more interesting to look at--its pretty nifty.
  33.  Opponent:
  34.    An item giving the user choice between three different opponent types:
  35.    Human, Randomizer(Computer that plays randomly), and Rookie(Computer play
  36.    for the beginners.)

  38. THE GAME
  39.   The game Majestic Dominion is a computerized version of that old game
  40. that most of us know about, but only some can play: Checkers.
  41. The Rules are the same, and are outlined in "How To," a game menu, but
  42. for simplicity, here they are again:
  43.   PIECES    
  44.     --There are two types of pieces, in different colors for either
  45.       player. Blue goes first, Red second(Note--the computer is always Red)
  46.     --Normal pieces move only on diagonals in the direction 
  47.       of the opponents back line.
  48.     --Kings move towards both back lines. 
  49.     --Kings are made when a normal piece lands on its opponent's back line.
  50.   ATTACKING
  51.     --Pieces can capture enemy pieces by jumping them. 
  52.     --If a player can make a jump, he MUST do so.  However, if he has
  53.       two or more possible jumps, he can choose between them.
  54.     --If after jumping, a players piece can make another jump from the 
  55.       space at which it landed, (a double jump) it MUST do so.
  56.   OBJECTIVE
  57.     --A player wins by capturing all of the opponents pieces or
  58.       immobilizing them(in other words, locking them in so they can't move.)
  59.   HINTS
  60.     --Try to gain the sides-your pieces can't be jumped there.
  61.     --At the beginning, some trade offs(a piece for a piece) are inevitable,
  62.       and until a certain point, are good.  But keep enough pieces that you
  63.       can still defend your back line.
  64.     --Try to gain kings, and prevent your opponent from doing the same.
  65.     --Once you have kings, use them to sneak up on your opponents normal
  66.       pieces-they can't attack you when you're behind them, but you can 
  67.       attack them.
  68.     --Look at all options and moves before moving as impulsive moves can 
  69.       prove harmful.
