Ooops, I was heading in the wrong
direction.

  Jiji came to a big lake.  This is
the first time Jiji have seen a lake.

  My gracious.  What a big pond.
Water seems little cold, but let me
take a little dip and catch some fish.

  I almost drowned there! (;_;)
That was scary.  Didn't think it was
that deep.

  This is a dangerous pond.  Come to
think of it, a fish in a pond this
big must be very big. I'll probably
become the one who'll be eaten.
Shiver, shiver.

  That's enough.  I don't want to
experience such a scare again.

  There is a tree with beatiful
flowers.

  What pretty flowers they are.  I
think I'll take a little rest.

  Jiji laid cozily by the root of the
tree.  In no time at all, Jiji was deep
in his sleep.

  Ooh.  What am I thinking.  I don't
have time to nap away.

  Jiji was lying for few minutes,
but his stomach began to growl.  He
took out a strawberry from his waist
belt, but... his hand slipped, and
the strawberry tumbled away...

  Finally, it rolled onto a grass
covered mound.
Then, into the small hole
located in the middle of it. Unable
to stop, Jiji followed the strawberry
down the hole - head first!

Jiji is in a great fall.


And he fell - thump! - flat at the
bottom.

  What's this.  A black strawberry?
Dear me!  It's moving!

  I'm not a strawberry!

[Mr Mole]

drop this strawberry?  I'm sorry
for mistaking you for an another
one.

  I haven't been up to see the sun
for quite a while now, and I'm quite
near-sighted.
By the way, is it already time for
strawberries?

[Jiji]
  Excuse me for intruding, but I'm
trying to go west. There's a fallen
tree blocking my way up there. I'm
afraid that I'll get lost if enter
the thicket. Is there other detour?
[Mr. Mole]
  No problem, kid.  You could exit
through our back door. Our house
span across the cluster of trees
above us.

[Jiji]
  Thank you very much (^_^).
  Then, excuse me. I'll be going...

  There is a entrance to Mr. Mole's
house.  Do you want to enter?

  There is a big fallen tree blocking
the path.

  What should I do.  This is the only
path. Maybe a strong wind blew it
down. Wait! What's that low buzzing
sound? Where can it be coming from?

[Mr. Camphor Tree]
  ZZZZzzzz... ZZZZzzzzz... ZZZZZzzz




[Jiji]
  Oh my. This tree may not have fallen.
It might have just laid down to sleep!
Upon a close inspection, Jiji finds
that the tree is actually Mr. Camphor
sleeping.
[Jiji]
  Sir, sir.  Would you wake up for a
minute? You're troubling  everybody
by laying in the middle of the road.
Nobody could pass through.

[Mr. Camphor Tree]
  ZZzzZZzzzzz.... ZZzzZZzzz




[Jiji]
  ... excuse me. knock, knock.
Jiji knocked on Mr. Camphor's trunks
in an attempt to wake him up, but
Mr. Camphor just would not open
his eyes.

  Mr. Camphor Tree is sleeping soundly.

  How could I wake him up? I tried
knocking, but it was to no avail. Wait
a minute! Lets try tickling him.

You're tickling me. Stop it, stop it!
With that, Mr. Camphor Tree shook all
over and opened his eyes.

  What's this? Why is the sky located
to my side? I thought it was suppose
to be above me.


[Jiji]
  Sir, your lying down.
[Mr. Camphor Tree]
  Oh... Where are you. I could only
hear you. Sorry to be in your way.
Wait a moment. I'll get up.
  Mr. Camphor put all his stength
and tried to stand up, but he could
only straighten up enough to let small
Jiji through.


[Mr. Camphor Tree]
  I give up. I'm too old. I no use.
I just can't get up ...
[Jiji]
  Please don't give up.  I'll get
Mr. Bear to help you get up.

  When I was young, I was able to
hippty-hop around here just like
that young one.

tears in front of a fallen tree.

  Weep weep. Mr. Camphor has been here
long before I was even born. He was
such a nice person that everybody loved
him. Why did he suddenly have to fall
and die like this? Weep, weeep.. (;_;).

a scare.

opened his eyes, but he's too old
and can't get up by himself. Please
lend a hand and help him get up.

and tried with all his strength to lift
him up.

but he could not quite make it>

  Jiji, would you get my boys?  They

chased after their father.
Seeing such a cheerful family sight,
Jiji felt a little bit lonesome.

be able to fetch some water from the

side? Then, please hurry and wake him up.

  Truthful boy. I will reward thou honesty
by giving thee both the gold strawberry and
the silver strawberry.

After handling the strawberries over, the
goddess disappeared into the lake.

the silver strawberry back into the spring.
