  1. Pontari Productions' Super Glow for LightWave 3D 5.0

  4. Installation instructions:

  6. The Super Glow plug-in consists of the following files:
  7.     sglow.p
  8.     sglow.hlp
  9.     sglow.cnt
  10.  
  11. plus the following support files
  12.     LWPanels.p
  13.     readme.txt
  14.     sgmanual.wri
  15.  
  16. All three of the main files should be copied to your
  17. NewTek/Plug-ins/Layout directory.
  18.  
  19. In addition Super Glow ships with a new version of the NewTek plug-in
  20. LWPanels.p.  This new version should be copied on top of the existing
  21. LWPanels.p.  In the event you have a more recent version of LWPanels.p
  22. you should not need to do this.  LWPanels.p created after January 20th
  23. 1997 should work fine with Super Glow.  Pervious versions will produce
  24. crashes or jumbled UI in the main Super Glow panel.

  26. This new version of LWPanels.p is only needed for LightWave 5.0 users.
  27. LightWave 5.5 users do not need to install the lwpanels.p included
  28. with Super Glow.

  30. Once you have copied the files to your plug-in directory you need to
  31. add Super Glow to your LightWave configuration files.  To do this
  32. first start LightWave layout and choose the Options button at the
  33. top.  On the Options panel you should choose the Add Plug-ins option
  34. and point the file requestor to the sglow.p file.  This will add the
  35. Super Glow image filters and shaders to your current LightWave
  36. configuration.  You should exit LightWave at this time to make sure a
  37. good lw.cfg file is written.

  39. If you havent added the LWPanels.p plug-in you should perform the same
  40. steps as above only choosing it instead of the sglow.p file.

  42. If you have successfully installed Super Glow you will have the
  43. following plug-ins added to LightWave.

  45. Under the Effects->Image Processing->Image Filter Plug-ins
  46.     Super_Glow
  47.     Multi_Super_Glow

  49. Under the Surfaces->Shader plug-ins
  50.     Super_Glow
  51.     Super_Glow_Protection
  52.     Super_Glow_Bright
  53.     Super_Glow_Advanced

  55. Super Glows also comes with a copy of the printed manual in Microsoft
  56. Word 6.0 format so that it can be easily printed or viewed on-line.  If
  57. you do not have Microsoft Word a free Word viewer can be downloaded from

  65. When you ordered Super Glow you should have recieved a User Id and a
  66. password to access the Super Glow download pages.  You should keep
  67. this information in a safe place as there is no way to change or
  68. modify your password.  When accessing the download pages you may
  69. be requested to enter you password more than once(Netscape seems to
  70. do this more often than IE3.0) this is not a bug.  In the event your
  71. account/password is invalid you will recieve an error page and not
  72. another request for your username/password.

  77. At this time we cannot offer phone support for Super Glow.  In any messages
  78. you send please include a daytime phone number where you can be reached
  79. in the event we need to talk with you personally.  We also ask that
  80. you send the email from the account that purchased Super Glow.  This
  81. account should also be your User id on our download pages.  In the event
  82. you change email addresses please send us email and we will update our
  83. records and change your user id.
