  12. 1.0 About this driver
  13.  
  14. This driver is a special release of the Sportster ISDN 128K version 5.3 for inclusion on the Windows 98 CD-ROM. This version of software does not include the full suite of Sportster Configuration and Monitoring programs. These programs allow full access to the features of your Sportster 128K. These programs are available either with the board that was shipped to you or from the 3COM web site at:

  19. 2.0 Installation / Updates

  21. The file sibspy.exe that is shipped with this driver is capable of displaying events from the software. These events can be extremly useful in diagnosing problems you may be having in starting or connecting your SP128K.

  24. 3.0 Known Problems and Issues
  25.  
  26. The following are known problems and/or issues with this version of the Sportster Software.
  27.  
  28.  A. The Sportster may falsely detect your SPID(s) (when auto-detection is enabled) if your switch type is AT&T Custom (Multipoint). If it appears that the Sportster has detected your spid(s), but the Self Call Test fails, try turning auto-detection off and manually entering your SPID(s).

  30.  B. The Dial-Up Server does not currently recognize the Sportster 128K.

  33. 4.0 Advanced Parameters
  34.  
  35. The following advanced parameters can be set as part of the properties of the Sportster 128K.

  37. Ring Pattern - Sets ring pattern for the board. Use External if you have the External Ring Generator attached to the board.

  39. Beep On Data Calls - If ON an audible beep is generated whenever a data call is connected. 
  40.  
  41. Run Diagnsotics On Start-up - If ON, the board will run board level diagnostics before connecting to the ISDN Network.

  43. TurboPPP - If ON, the Sportster will use its TurboPPP for the data connections. This defaults to an Always expansion mode with Voice Override.
