  1. [Subject]:
  2.            Magic S23 Plug and Play sound card ver 2.30 driver for windows 95.
  3.            (Based on Pre_Release Crystal 1.51 Driver)

  5. [Install]: 
  6.        Install Magic S23 card for Win'95 .
  7.        (a) Removing all sound card driver first if you have installed any 
  8.            sound card drivers before :
  9.            If you have installed the Magic S23 driver or any other 
  10.            sound card driver , please uninstall these sound card
  11.            driver before install the new Magic S23 card's driver.
  12.            Please follow the [Unistall] section for detailed instruction .

  14.        (b) Insert Magic S23 card , then power on the machine :
  15.            After inserting the Magic S23 card to your machine , then power 
  16.            on your machine .

  18.        (c) Insert Magic S23 setup disk :
  19.            Because the Magic S23 card's Plug and Play property , windows 95
  20.            will auto detect the Magic S23 card . During installation ,you 
  21.            will see some pictures below :
  22.            (1) Windows 95 will auto create the information for Magic S23 card .
  23.            (2) You will see a picture for three choices . And the default 
  24.                is setting to " Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacture " .
  25.           *(3) Click "OK" . Then you'll see another picture asking you to 
  26.                insert the Magic S23 card setup disk. 
  27.           *(4) Please insert the Magic S23 setup disk or browsing the path
  28.                where the file "install.inf" is .  ( e.g. A:\ )
  29.           *(5) Click "OK" .
  30.            (6) Then win95 will copy files from the source disk .
  31.                And the system will auto detect for "Gameport joystick ",
  32.                "Acer Magic S23 Audio control registers" , "MPU-401 compatible" .
  33.                ,and it'll autoload and create the related driver and information .
  34.         
  35.        (d) After completing the setup program , you can play sound without 
  36.            restarting your machine .

  38. [Unistall]:  
  39.     Method 1:
  40.             If you want to unistall the Magic S23 card driver :
  41.             From the "Control Panel", double click the " Add/Remove Programs"
  42.             then double click " Uninstall the Magic S23 PnP Audio driver" .
  43.  Or Method 2:
  44.           (A) If you want to unistall the Magic S23 card driver :
  45.            1. In the "Windows\Rem_S23\" path , you can find file "rem_s23.inf" .
  46.            2. Right click mouse button , select "Install" .
  47.            3. You've done the unistall process .
  48.               It will remove all S23 card's information stored in the registry .
  49.               And it will remove "cs32mix.exe" and some *.ini file for S23 card.
  50.           (B) If you want remove other sound card driver :
  51.               Open the "Control Panel" , double click the "System" ,select the
  52.               "Device" , double click on the "Sound card device" , remove all
  53.               the device driver attached in the directory . 
  54.           (C) After the unistall process as before , check the System Device 
  55.               Manager (as B process) , you won't see the "Sound card devive"
  56.               in the "Device Manager" .
  57.           (D) The "csfm.drv" and "cs32ba11.drv" files can't be deleted under
  58.               windows mode . So you'd better return to real MS_DOS mode to 
  59.               removed the two files for Magic S23 card .
