U076: WB3 HD Install Disk The official disk from Commodore that uses the Commodore Installer to install Workbench version 3 onto your hard drive. You need to get a prepping program like "HD Prep" before using this disk, then format using Workbench, as normal, and then install the software. Easy. U132A: A64 Package v3 [1/2 Disks] A very decent Commodore 64 emulator, which comes with no manual as you have to upgrade to receive this. Fairly straightforwards. U230: Tools Daemon v2.1 A utility that puts menus at the top of the workbench screen to make access to a program quicker and easier. Ideal for users with large hard drives. U239: Re-Org v3.11 An excellent disk optimiser which will optimise your hard disk, floppy or even RAD: disk. U302: Viewtek v2.01 Viewtek is an picture and animation viewer utility designed for Workbench 2.0 and up. It started out as a pretty simple project, but naturally it's developed into a large shambling behemoth of a program (well, sort of). Changes since version 1.05, - New documentation, distribution conditions. - Recompiled with SAS 6.3 resulting in minor overall speed improvements. - Graphic handling somewhat rewritten. - New versions for OpalVision, Retina, Firecracker. - Keyboard may now be used to skip images. - "Configuration" file may now be used for frequently used options. - New NOCLICK option to disable mouse button actions. - Uses WriteChunkyPixels under V40 if appropriate. - New GIF decoding; somewhere around 15%-20% faster. - Playback from disk now heeds DPAN chunks. - Fixed problem of LMB not working sometimes when playing anims. - Fixed improper handling of directories using playback from disk. - Fixed unfreed chip memory in playback from disk (oops). This is one of the best animation and Picture viewers on the PD market. So good in fact that version 1.05 was given away with Image FX v1.5!! U317: Action Replay Pro [AGA] This is the newest version, released March 1994. It is the software version of Action Replay with the option of upgrading to the hardware version from the authors. Now works with the A4000. This vesion presents you with a graphical screen so it is much easier to use. U318A: Videotracker Data [1/4 Disks] [Needs Videotracker] These data disks contain pictures, modules and effects to be used with VideoTracker, disks U454 and U455. The data disks also contain finished Vidules so the user can see what can be done with this excellent Demomaker. U318B: Videotracker Data [2/4 Disks] [Needs Videotracker] U318C: Videotracker Data [3/4 Disks] [Needs Videotracker] U318D: Videotracker Data [4/4 Disks] [Needs Videotracker] U326: Text Plus Pro v5.01 [HD] TextPlus is a TeX frontend word processor. TPP provides facilities for tables, lists, mailmerge, footnotes, inclusion of iff-graphics, an ARexx-Port (122 commands), printing ia the printer. device (no TeX needed for this), and full OS2.xx/3.xx compatibility. Makes use of PasTeX, Georg Hessmann's Amiga implementation of TeX, or AmigaTeX of Radical Eye Software, which is supported from now on. New features: user definable menus, keymap, and macros; completely localized (available languages: english, deutsch); clipboard support; AppWindow, AppIcon; 11 new ARexx commands. The most powerful PD Word Processor on the market. U336: Epoch Master v5 Epoch is a filofax/personal organiser type program. It contains, A 1299 year diary with Powerful search facilities, even more powerful repeat facilities, the ability to index your entries not only with an occasion but also with a category number and a location which may then be marked on the map. A memorandum for you to keep all those important notes. An extremely comprehensive Address and Phone book with full search and editing facilities. Epoch's calendar and Address book are linked together by complimentary search facilities, meaning that if you had an entry which read:- Dave Meeting at restaurant for dinner You could immediately match scan the address book to see what Dave's address and phone number was. (This suggestion was kindly donated by Amiga Shopper. U349: Libs and Datatypes This is a disk packed full of Amiga Work bench 3.0 Libraies and Datatypes, There's 47 Libraries from A to Z all libraries covered are right upto-date and waiting to be installed. The disk also have installation notes to aid the beginers. There are also files in the L and Devs/DosDrivers drawers that can be copied or assigned. U352: Magic WB v1.2P Latest version of the superb icon replacer. Make your workbench look like those WB in the Amiga magazines. Very popular and thoroughly recommended. U353: X-Password Welcome to X-Password, this is designed to keep peeping eyes away from data that they shouldn`t see. For example if you have to share an Amiga in the family, and you all share the Hard disk, then someone (A sister, brother) may go into your private directory and read private letters. Or if your brother or sister goes through your personal disk collection of floppy disks and they think they see something labled `Private Letters` and they decide it would be very funny if they read your private letters, or personal diary about your girlfriend then this helpful utility is for YOU! It can be installed onto any hard disk with enough space and any DOS floppy disk with enough disk space left on it. The program doesn`t take up much disk space,so you should be ok for that. If you don`t know what disk is in DOS format or not, then there is one easy way to tell. Load up your workbench disk and insert the disk you would like to install, then if an icon appears with the name of the disk, and you can double click on it, so that a window appears, then it is a DOS disk and you can install it, however if an error appears or the icon is named NDOS: or a checksum 500 error appears, then this is not in a DOS format so you can`t install the program on it. U355: Steroscopic v2.4A StereoScopic is a simple package that allows you to create 3D Stereograms. What is a Stereogram? A Stereogram is a two dimensional image that has been encoded with a three dimensional picture. Another term for this type of image is SIRDS. SIRDS, however, uses only random dots for their background. The StereoScopic program allows you to use any type of background, including random dots. The technique your mind uses to decode the "hidden" Stereogram is called Wall- Eyed. This is when you focus beyond the surface to see the 3D image. There are other types of Stereogram viewing techniques, including Cross-Eyed and Focus to Infinity. StereoScopic only uses the more common method of Wall- Eyed viewing. U359: Teletext v1.2 This project makes it possible to view Teletext (also know as Teletekst, Videotext, Ceefax, Skytext, Supertext etc.) on your Amiga. It is suitable for any PAL Amiga because it uses the parallel port to interface with the hardware. An electronic switch is provided to easily switch between the TeleText decoder and a printer. The project consists of a small piece of hardware and some software. All electronic diagrams are provided. U370: Assign Manager AssignManager is a new prefs editor which handles your custom assigns in a friendly, all-encompassing way. No more fiddling with Assign commands in User-Startups. Now you can use Assign Manager to edit your list of assigns to your heart's content, and you can change them at the drop of a hat. AssignManager functions as a true prefs editor in every way, except you can't save different presets (I didn't think this was very necessary). The only other difference is that you must add a line near the start of your User-Startup. If you can use Commodore's prefs editors, and if you are familiar with GadTools gadgets, you should have no problems using AssignManager. AssignManager can be started from the Workbench or a Shell. U376: Powercache v37.115 [HD] An excellent utility that puts a cache on your hard drive in order to speed up access and retrieval of files by storing data to ram. Powercache comes with versions for the 020, 030 and 040 processors. U379: Desktop Magic v2 DesktopMAGIC saves your screen from phosphor burn-in by featuring 32 animated screen saver modules, accompanied by sampled sound and 8-track music. Plus, it puts sound into your system, Workbench, and even all your already installed applications by assigning sounds or voices to windows, keys, times, text and virtually all other system events. It gives your AMIGA that MAGIC feeling you will never want to miss again. U385: Mosaic v1.2 Mosiac is the tool that allows access to the World Wide Web. When in the Internet you can view pictures, play sounds etc within a graphical environment. You need MUI (U499) to use Mosaic. U394: Videomaxe v4.4 Videomaxe is a video database that satisfies all needs of the private video user. U395A: Magic WB Extras 1 [1/2 Disks] [Magic WB Needed] This is a two disk compilation jam-packed with Magic Workbench Icons, backgrounds, brushes, extensions and much more. Also on the comp. is a demo of Magic WB v2. A must for ALL Magic WB users! U395B: Magic WB Extras 1 [2/2 Disks] [Magic WB Needed] U396: Delitracker v3.07 Delitracker is a highly flexible soundplayer which supports many different sound formats. It plays a myriad of music modules from Soundtraker to Noisetracker. Excellent. U397: Security v3.71e This is a complete security system for your Amiga which prevents unauthorized access to your hard drive, floppies etc. U398: Amiga Fax v1.40 A demo version of the Amiga Fax program. With this version you can send and receive faxes but they are limited to one page at a time. Still a powerful program and you can choose to upgrade if you feel it is worth the value. U399: Forecaster v2.01b Forecast the horse races. U401: Spectrum Emulator v2 It's HERE!! The newest and best version to date. It is now quicker and can be programmed. You can also load application programs on it. Loads .SNA files but not the common .Z80 files found on the PC. U403: Disk Mag Creator v1.21 This program/util is probably the easiest to use Disk Mag Creator on the market just now ! Taken from the original concept behind ASCII READER and MAGNUM. (ASCII READER by P.J. Hickman. <<< >>> MAGNUM by Wai Hung Liu.) Although both the above mentioned progs/utils are great in their own right, I felt that they both did not offer the user enough options to create a good enough disk magazine/catalogue disk/ letters disk etc. U404: Casio Comms v1.4 This program is for communicating with the Casio digital Diary SF-4300, SF-4600 and others. This program and Hardware interface was made without any knowledge of the protocols needed to communicate with the casio so I needed to do a lot of trails to get everything working. Even the hardware interface was trail and error. There is a diagram for the interface on the disk. U408: Disk Salv v2.31 DiskSalv is a "Disk Salvage" program. It can recover data from a disk in severe trouble, it can fix a good portion of disk problems directly on the problem disk, and it can locate valid partitions on a disk with an unknown layout or damaged rigid disk block. It supports all AmigaDOS file systems through AmigaOS 3.1. The included "Cheap" manual details the basic functions available, while the commercial manual covers every little detail, theory ofoperation, and other good stuff. U411: Superdark v2.1A A modulerised screen blanker. U414: Disk Manager v4 DiskManager 4.0 is a disk cataloging program. That means you feed it with all the disks in your collection one by one. DM uses this information to build up a comprehensive database of all the files on all your disks. It also remembers how the disk was formatted and how full it is. At a later date, you can ask the program questions about the disks, such as what disk all archives are stored on. That is the basic idea of what a disk cataloger is but DiskManager 4.0 extends this idea beyond all recognition. U415: Game Warper v1 [020+] Game Warper is a system that allows you to enter "Action Replay" codes directly into your Amiga without the need for the Action Replay. It also comes with a number of pre-configured game cheats for a number of modern games. U416: Amiga Dos Guide v1 Ideal for intermediate or Amiga beginners. An Amiga DOS hyperbook U420: Accounts Manager v3C Account Master version 3 is a fully integrated home finance application. Users are presented with a pleasent Workbench 2/3 screen and all the associated with a modern user-friendly program. The program's greatest strength is in its ability to maintain a continuous record of all transactions on any account using the Amiga's internal clock as a date reference. When AM first runs, all accounts are checked for direct debit and/or credit transfer transactions and automatically updated as required. The program also contains comprehensive reporting capabilities which include 3 dimensional code related bar graphs, balance charts and a wide range of printing options. U423: Program Loader A mini hard drive menu system - configurable. U425: Vark's CLI Tools v6 Contains loads and loads of useful CLI programs and tools. These compilations are similar to the LSD Legal Tool disks but much better and easier to use. U426: EPU Stakker v1.70 [HD] This is the most popular disk in our collection. You can install EPU, crunch your hard disk and save upto 50% in space. If you have a 80MB drive then after installing EPU your drive could be "increased" to 120MB!! EPU comes with an easy to use graphical installer interface, on-line help, loads of tips and tricks and full documentation. This latest version also comes with an un-installer. EPU can be used to increase the space on floppy disks or any other device like a tape drive etc. THIS DISK IS NOT PD. THE INSTALLER ROUTINE IS COPYRIGHT TO N.A.U.G. Active Software, PD Soft, Ground Zero, 17 Bit Software, PD World, PD Drome, Hornesoft PD, Freestyle PD are authorized retailers. SIREN SOFTWARE, KT's PD and Exclusive PD are NOT authorized retailers and sell the disk without our permission - avoid these retailers at any cost. U432: Virtual Worlds This program allows you to walk, drive and fly around in a 3 dimensional computer generated world in realtime. It is used to visualize architectural, industrial and artistic designs for presentation or analysis purposes. You can use this program - live at your presentation - tape it to video - grab and print some pictures Since computer power is limited a realtime 3D computer model is always a compromise between graphics detail and animation speed. Therefore pictures generated by this program can't be compared to photo-realistic images made by 3D modelling software like Real3D. However a moving, interactive model can give you a much better, complete and objective impression than a static picture will ever give you ! U434: Edword v5 One of the best and most powerful Text Editors in the public domain. If you want a decent text editor or even a cheap word processor then get this! U435A: Movieguide v2.04 [1/2 Disks] Movieguide is a database of recent films. The previous version of the program was a little "flacky", as a result its search functions did not always work as they should. It also lacked any details of the film's storylines. Version 2.04 fixes all those shortfalls. Movieguide is a two disk program that can be installed to hard disk. It contains information about a surprising number of films. In essence it is a database program and is used in a similar manner. You can search for a film by either entering its title, director or the name of one of its cast. If you have used a search criteria that produces a list of several films, you can also choose a sorting method. You can view the films by name, genre or by year. To reduce the searching time you can limit the program to a genre and a country of origin. Once a list of films that match your criteria has been compiled, you can click on each film to view its director, cast and on some, a brief description of the plot. If you click on the directors name or member of the cast the program will then search for other films that the director has directed or a film that the member of the cast has appeared in. You can also print out entries. U435B: Movieguide v2.04 [2/2 Disks] U438: 256 Colour Icons Loads of 256 icons for AGA machines. U440: Snoopdos v3 SnoopDos is a very serious utility. Essentially, it keeps track of all attempts by other programs to access DOS functions and files. The idea behind it is this: assuming you have just installed some new piece of software on your system and it fails to run, you can check to see what files it is trying to access and hence hopefully be able to get it working. If you have a hard drive and use a fair amount of PD, SnoopDos quickly earns a place in your heart. It is a truly usable and useful piece of software. Provided you have a reasonable knowledge of AmigaDOS, this program is a definite must. U441A: Magic WB Extras 2 [1/2 Disks] [Needs Magic WB] Icons, backgrounds and textures for Magic WB users. U441B: Magic WB Extras 2 [2/2 Disks] [Needs Magic WB] U443: Map Designer v2A A program that allows you to design your own maps. Maybe ideal for orienteers, mountain climbers and outdoor people. U444: Tee to Green v1.1 A golf stats program, a word from the author: Being a keen golfer myself, (handicaped unfairly at 19), I like to keep hold of my old cards to see if my scores are improving. After a while, I found I had so many cards that I just could not be bothered to go through them so they just sat there making an untidy pile. About 18 months ago whilst browsing through some Amiga mag or other, I saw a golf statistics program on a PD listing, and when I received the PD catalouge disk, I found another. Well of course I tried them out and was quite happy with them both. Unfortunately, the more I used them, the more I wanted out of them, but you cannot add features to a program just because you want them. It was at this point that I thought that I would try to write one for myself. And after 1 years programming, (on and off), this is the result. I hope you like it. If you don't then register anyway and I'll listen to your moans!! * Will allow as many courses on file as you can fit on the disk. * As many scores as you like for each course. * Stableford rounds and Normal rounds put in with ease in same file. * Every type of round will be taken into account. Even if you have 17 zeros. * Handicaps worked out as to Royal and Ancient guidelines. * Handicaps can be set to be worked out automatically or only changed when you want. * Each round saved is saved with the handicap at the time of the round. * Every round entered can be viewed with a simple date selector. * Lovely eye pleasing graphics and extremely user friendly U447: Kids Disk 6 More kiddies programs on this disk. Most ofthe contents are designed for kids under 6 years of age. U448: DMS Pro v2.04 This is the program the magazines use to compile the coverdisks. It allows you to crunch a whole disk into one file (usually one disk crunches to about 350K on average) for easy storage. A good way to save space on your hard drive. U449: Octamed 4 Dev Kit Licenced developers kit for Octamed 4/5. U451: Meny Menu System Menÿ is a simple and short menu utility for disk-magazines etc. Earlier versions of this program have already been use (e.g. in AM/FM), and it has been found to be reliable. Because I got several requests to release this program separately, I've done so. I renamed it 'Menÿ', to separate it from earlier versions, and to finally make some use of the 'ÿ' character that doesn't exist in any language! Features: ~~~~~~~~~ * Fully multitasking and OS-compliant * Works under any OS version since 1.2 * Short (only about 11 kilobytes) * Reliable (I hope :-) * Easy-to-use script language * Can display a logo picture above the actual menus * Flexible handling of sub-menus * Can bring Workbench to front if desired U453: Main Actor v1.55 Main Actor has to be one of the favourite PD programs of 1994. Now upto version v1.55, the program has risen further in our expectations. It has a selection of new features, all of which are fully-functioning. Unlike the previous version, instead of disabling the features of the shareware version, the program simply opens a requester mentioning that the program is shareware. At least this means you can evaluate all of the features and then consider purchasing it. Main Actor is an animation utility that takes a modular approach to editing animations. It's an animation editor rather than a creator,so it has no tools for drawing, but it can save and load a variety of animation formats which makes it great for converting animations. So what's new? The program now supports FLI, FLC, AVI and DL formatted animations. As these formats are widely accepted by PC programs, and some MAC ones, you can use the program to transfer animations to other computer platforms. As well as the increased file support the program can now playback sound files. The programs playback speed from hard drive has also been improved. All the old functions are still there such as being able to append non-looping animations and AREXX support. A couple of AREXX scripts that can be used in conjunction with ADPro have been included. The program is still easy to use and providing you spend some time reading the extensive Amiga Guide file, you will be using the program to it's full potential in no time. U454: Videotracker v2 AGA With VideoTracker you can make a videoclip around a module. You can use pictures, brushes, animations, animation-brushes, palettes, colorcycle, routines, texts, objects, vectorobjects, amigafonts, karafonts, landscapes, colorsets. When the video is finished, you can save the module and video data as a "Vidule". A vidule is a crunchable executable file which plays the module and the video. You can make a small intro or a big house -demo. You also can use VideoTracker with a GenLock and, for example, make professional movie-titles with colorfonts. When the module plays a sample, VideoTracker shows an "effect" on screen. This effect can by a picture, brush, anim, routine, etcetra. or a combination of these. You can edit for each of the 128 song- positions the 31 samples and use up to 256 effects in a video. All the explained effects are used in the example-videos U455: Videotracker v2 ECS ECS version of Videotracker 2. U458: Cross Mac v1 The demo is a READ ONLY version of the CrossMAC FileSystem. It also will only allow access to the floppy drives, access to Hard Drives and CD-ROMS have been disabled. Requirements to operate this DEMO: AmigaDOS 2.0 or higher ---AND--- Amiga high-density drive to access Mac 1.44M disks ---OR--- Amax cartridge with Mac 800K drive ---OR--- Amax II plus/Amax IV card with standard Amiga drive. This program (the commercial version) is used by Ground Zero productions to produce this and future compact discs. A program that is thoroughly recommended! U459: AF Copy v4 AFCopy is a Cool File Manager that's designed to be simple, fast and efficient and EASY to use. You should be able to figure out most of it's many brilliant functions just by looking at it. It is very flexible and user friendly but powerfull all at the same time and with lots of new features being continually added this program will be around for a LONG time. U461A: Magic WB Extras 3 [1/2 Disks] Loads more extras for Magic Workbench. This volume contains a huge collection of image drawers and more! U461B: Magic WB Extras 3 [2/2 Disks] U462: Baud Bandit BBS v7.2 A BBS system - construct our own BBS. U464A: Video Test System [1/2 Disks] The Complete Video Test System is a collection of twenty test patterns that you can use to evaluate, troubleshoot, or compare video equipment. Many of our tests are unique, and can be found nowhere else. This text will explain the tests in clear, non-technical language, and show you how to use your Complete Video Test System to make purchasing decisions, adjust your equipment for optimum performance, or just demonstrate the quality of the system you have. U464B: Video Test System [1/2 Disks] U465: Pay Advice v4.2 A word from the author... A friend of mine once explained to me about how much he hated having to keep several old cardboard boxes in the bottom of his wardrobe, each of which he was slowly-but-surely filling with the Pay Advice slips that he receives in his wage packet. He asked me if I knew of any way to transfer all his wage details onto his trusty Amiga, thus allowing him to throw out his dusty collection of pay slips and yet retain a permanent record of all his earnings. Much to his disappointment, I explained to him that unless he wanted to try using a spreadsheet then there wasn't really any realistic solution. Sadly this idea just didn't work out. My friend had been thinking more along the lines of a simple, easy-to-use database program on which he could enter all his wage details without any awkward setting up or fiddling about. After spending many sleepless nights sitting in front of the computer, I triumphantly produced a solution. U466: Pro Titler ProTitler purports to be one of the finest video titling systems for the Amiga (all bar Scala!). It has a wide range of effects mainly designed with the genlock-user in mind, however if you don't have a genlock, the program still remains useful for video titling work. I have incorporated 13 features which I hope you will find useful. U467: T.U.D.E. v1.0D TUDE has been in development for a few months, i needed a degrader type program that offered more flexibility than any of the currently available programs (Relokick, my own RunIt, Degrader, Runlame etc.), in one easy to use package. So TUDE was born. Two versions of TUDE are included, a CLI version and a GUI version. U470: Art of Noise v1 This program is a kind of music tracker. But it is not yet ANOTHER tracker (like the 1001 protracker clones out there) but a real NEW tracker, of course completely new coded (no protracker source used!!). I tried to improve the old protracker format (which is surely antiquated already since ages..) and to create a new tracker, which should be the DREAM TRACKER for all amiga musicians.. (and all who want to become one). U471: P.F.S. v9.5 The standard AmigaDos filesystem (OFS) is not very fast. Commodore has tried to improve the performance of their filesystem a number of times. Workbench 2.0 added the fast file system (FFS), and now, with Workbench 3.0, we have the fast file system with directory caching (FFS-DC). This makes directoryscan faster but writing to disk and directory- operations like delete and rename are slower than ever. This made me decide to write a filesystem that does better. I used all the knowledge I gained from my computer science study to make it as good as possible. U472: All New AGA Icons [AGA] Even more 256 colour icons! U473: Amiga NCP v1.7 Psion's fine palmtop computer series, namely the S3 and S3a,contain an even finer operating system, whose neat features cover a full fledged peer-to- peer networking software using a protocol calledNCP. Using NCP, you can link together two Psion computers or a Psion and a different, perhaps stationary machine and happily exchange data on your behalf. NCP services include, but are not limited to, accessing files on the remote machines as if they were on yours, in both directions. Linking your palmtop to your stationary machine is generally quite a good idea. Doing so via the NCP protocol requires your stationary machine to have an implemention of this protocol. I use both Final Writer (R3) and GPFax (V2.346) frequently on my 4000/030 and have found it cumbersome when working in Final Writer to constantly have to be switching screens, opening up GPFax (which I keep iconified) and toggling the fax printer driver on and off. Recently I noticed how easy it was to create a few teeny ARexx macros to perform various chores, even though I have never so much as programmed an egg timer. It occurred to me to use the GPFax ARexx port and commands to turn the fax printer driver on and off from within Final Writer. I started by simply creating two small scripts and linking them to 2 user buttons to turn the fax driver on and off.
