  17. <h2>General</h2><br>

  19. The SymphPlay application, is merely a wimp front end for the <b>Digital
  20. Symphony</b> play module, written due to many requests from various Public
  21. Domain Libraries, who now wish to replace their <i>Tracker</i> files with
  22. Symphony files; due to the superior play quality and compaction
  23. capabilities. <br><br> If you are distributing this application in your PD
  24. library, please inform us, so that we can supply you with improved versions
  25. as time progresses. <br>

  27. <h2>Instructions</h2><br>
  28.  
  29. Just like <b>Digital Symphony</b>, this application is simplicity itself to
  30. use. Double-click on a Symphony file to load it, or drag it to the SymphPlay
  31. icon on the iconbar, or to the control window. <br><br> The video style controls
  32. of the Control Panel, displayed by clicking on the iconbar icon or choosing
  33. <b>Panelî</b> from the iconbar menu, give you control over the track.  The
  34. volume can be adjusted by dragging the slider and voices can be muted by
  35. toggling the option buttons. <br><br> Choosing <b>Stereoî</b> from the iconbar
  36. menu allows you to set the stereo position of each channel.  There are three
  37. preset positions which can be selected by clicking on <b>Centre</b>,
  38. <b>Amiga</b> or <b>Full</b>. <br><br> A realtime monitor is also included;
  39. Choosing <b>Monitorî</b> from the iconbar menu will display the monitor;
  40. showing Vu Bars for each channel and the sample waveforms. <br><br> When you're
  41. finished with SymphPlay, clicking <b>Reset</b> on the Control Panel or from
  42. the menu will reset the sound system for use by other prgrams. <br>

  44. <h2>What is Digital Symphony</h2><br> Digital Symphony brings the power and
  45. performance of a professional music sequencing studio to your home RISC OS
  46. machine. No additional software, or hardware is required for Digital
  47. Symphony to create stunning music from classical compositions to rave
  48. tracks.<br><br>

  50. Digital Symphony is a high specification sample sequencing studio allowing
  51. optional interaction with MIDI compatible instruments for real-time
  52. recording. A built in sample editing suite, and special effects editor,
  53. provide facilities for total soundtrack creation within one easy to use
  54. package.<br><br> <i>Digital Symphony will operate on any RISC OS 3
  55. machine,<br> including the Risc PC.</i> <hr>
