   ocr: 1. Place water, split peas, carrots, celery, onions, thyme, and cayenne pepper in a large soup pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for one hour or until peas are tender. 2. Transter to a blender or food processor and purée. Return to pot tand warm through. Stir in lemon juice. Serve garnished with chopped to- mato.
