Getting Drilling Billy to run under OS/2
----------------------------------------
Actually OS/2 users should have no problems running Drilling Billy, however
this section might help the inexperienced user. This is only tested under
OS/2 Warp V. 3.
If you are having problems running the install.exe or billy.exe from the
CD, you probably need to create a DOS-session with the appropriate settings.
To do this, create a new program-object and change the following settings:
path and filename:
*
session:
DOS full-screen
Click on "DOS settings", "All DOS settings", "Load".
In the "Encoded file"-field type D:\OS2\BILLYSET.DOS, where D is the drive
letter of your CD-drive. Save the settings and try running install.exe or
billy.exe from the DOS-session.
Once you've installed the game, move the program-object you just created to
the appropriate folder, fill in the "settings\working directory".
You can't just fill in the "path and filename", because Drilling Billy uses
DPMI, so you have to type "billy" at the command prompt to run it.
As an alternative, you can copy the file D:\OS2\OS2BILLY.BAT to the Billy
directory and set the "path and filename" to point to this bat-file.
If the sound doesn't work probably make sure the BLASTER environment variable
is set properly and that SETSOUND.EXE has been run.
Native OS/2 version.
--------------------
A native OS/2 version of Drilling Billy is under development. A beta version
can be found on the CD in \WWW\FILES. For the latest version, check our
on-line homepage.
