  1.           Zeek the Geek Part One Installation instructions

  4. For best performance, Zeek the Geek Part One should be installed on your
  5. hard disk before it is run.  The following instructions tell you the system
  6. requirements for executing the game, how to install the game on your hard
  7. disk, and how to add it to the "Games" group in the Microsoft Windows 3.1
  8. Program Manager.
  9.  
  10. System Requirements
  11. -------------------
  12. Zeek the Geek Part One requires a PC running Microsoft Windows 3.1 (or
  13. later), a VGA (640 x 480 resolution with 16 colors) or better display, and
  14. a mouse. If you have a sound card with drivers for Windows, you will enjoy
  15. music and sound effects with the game. Without the sound card, the only
  16. sounds you will get are little beeps out of the PC's speaker, but you can
  17. still play the game.

  19. Installation
  20. ------------
  21. To install the game on your hard disk, use the Microsoft Windows File
  22. Manager to create a new directory on your hard disk (such as \GAMES\ZEEK1).
  23. Then copy all of the files included with the program to the new directory
  24. that you just created. Once all files are on your hard disk, you can
  25. start the game by double clicking on "ZEEK1.EXE" in the Windows File
  26. Manager.  If you don't know how to create a directory or copy files, check
  27. the File Manager documentation that came with your copy of Microsoft
  28. Windows.

  30. To add the game to the "Games" group in the Microsoft Windows Program
  31. Manager, simply click the mouse on the "ZEEK1.EXE" file in the Microsoft
  32. Windows File Manager and, while holding the mouse button down, drag the file
  33. to the "Games" group in the Windows Program Manager. Drop the file (release
  34. the mouse button) on the "Games" group, and the Zeek icon should appear. You
  35. may need to rearrange the icons in the group after adding a new one. If you
  36. have trouble adding the Zeek icon to the group, see your Windows Program
  37. Manager documentation on adding a new Program Item to a Program Group.

  39. Once you have the game installed and running, click on the "?" button to get
  40. to the "All About Zeek" dialog box. Read "The Story" and "Game Controls" to
  41. learn how to play the game.

  58. All files should be installed on your hard disk. If you do not have all the
  59. original files with Zeek the Geek Part One, you may wish to order a copy of
  60. the complete program from Sidewalk Software.  See the PRODUCTS.TXT file and
  61. the ORDER.TXT file to find out how.

  66. copies along to your friends, to share it at work or at school, and to upload
