Description:
Solitary Croquet for Windows 3.0 allows one to play croquet with one ball
and a mallet and nine arches. The arches are numbered one through nine. The
object of the game is to hit the ball with the mallet by selecting the
distance and direction that the ball will take to go through an arch. The ball
must go through the arches in sequential order (1 to 9). However, at least 20
shots (maybe more) are allowed to hit the ball through the nine arches.
Hitting the ball through an arch depends on the selected distance; the shorter
the distance the greater the chance of the ball going through the arch.
Instructions:
Displays:
Distance - displays the distance the ball will move
Arch - displays the arch that the ball has to go through
Shots - displays the number of shots remaining in the game
Menu Selections:
Move - moves the mallet when the left button of the mouse is pressed
down and the cursor touches or comes close to the top of the
mallet handle. The ball moves a selected distance when the
circled bottom end of the mallet comes close or in contact
with the ball. If the mallet is close to the fence while
holding the left button of the mouse down, the mallet will
disappear. Dragging the cursor to the ball so as to touch
the inside of the ball will cause the ball to move when the
left button of the mouse is released.
Distance - sets the distance that the ball will move by pressing
the left button of the mouse to increase the distance or
by pressing the right button of the mouse to decrease the
distance.
Direction - selects the direction that the ball will move.
Registration:
The registration fee is $5.00. Make check payable to:
Backus Computer Services
P.O.Box 830793
San Antonio, TX 78283-0793
With each registration two different croquet games will be sent. One is
Wise Croquet which allows one to play croquet with two balls; one ball
is for the user and the other ball is for the computer (you play against
the computer). The other croquet game allows two players to play against
each other and allows a player to knock the other player's ball off course.
You may make copies of Solitary Croquet to give to others as long as
crooquet.doc and croquet.exe are included together in the diskette.
