  2. INSTALLATION
  3. Execute INSTALL.EXE from within Windows. Install will create a sub-directory of your 
  4. choice, copy all distribution files and create a Program Manager Group for QFCS if 
  5. you desire OR you may manually copy all distribution files to the directory of your 
  6. choice. Use Windows Program Manager, the Windows Setup program or an equivalent 
  7. process to install. Requires VBRUN200.DLL, not included. May be obtained from 
  8. Compuserve and most major BBS's.

  10. FIRST TIME USE
  11. Complete help for first time use is available from the Help menu or by pressing 
  12. the F1 key anywhere from within the program.

  14. UPGRADING
  15. If you have been using a version of QFCS (Win-Cover's old name)
  16. older than V2.0, do not use your existing .DAT (Sender) files.
  17. A new field was added in V2.0 that provides for a description of the 
  18. Sender, if you try to load the existing file two error messages 
  19. will result "Input Past End Of File" & "File Already Open" - 
  20. You will probably have to re-boot your system at this point so 
  21. DON'T USE OLD .DAT FILES!. Erase your old .DAT files before 
  22. installation! The RECEIVER.DB file is still compatible, however 
  23. due to the file handling structure of V2.0+, no other .DB files 
  24. other than RECEIVER.DB are usable. If you created other .DB files 
  25. for different categories of receivers they will no longer be 
  26. accessible from the program.

  28. When upgrading run install to a new subdirectory and then copy your 
  29. old RECEIVER.DB into the subdirectory overwriting the new RECEIVER.DB 
  30. file. Any existing cover sheet .FAX files from version 2.0 may be 
  31. loaded, however, only the first line of notes text will be loaded 
  32. since newer versions now have a single multi line text box instead 
  33. of the previous four single line boxes. 
  34.    
  35. Version  3.0 now requires three .DLL and four .VBX files(STATUS.DLL, 
  36. ENUMFONT.DLL, BTTNCUR.DLL, TOOLBUTT.VBX, 3DLABEL.VBX, VBDIA.VBX, & 
  37. HMETER.VBX) to function. These are placed in your Windows 
  38. System directory by the install program. Pre-existing QFCS.INI or 
  39. QFCSR.INI files may be deleted since, starting with V2.3,a standard 
  40. .ini file is created in the Windows directory.
