SYSOP DOCUMENTATION
INTRO
Las Vegas Slots is a fast and simple slot machine door for your users' gambling
pleasure. Five files should be contained in this archive.
SYSOP.DOC - this documentation
VEGASCFG.EXE - configuration setup file
VEGAS.EXE - Las Vegas Slots executable file
SAMPLE.CFG - Sample config file
REGISTER.FRM - Registration form
SETUP
ANSI.SYS or it's equivalent is REQUIRED for Las Vegas Slots v1.1!
First extract the Las Vegas Slots archive into your door directory
(ie: C:\BBS\DOORS\VEGAS). Run the VEGASCFG.EXE program to create the VEGAS.CFG
and SCOREBOARD files necessary to run the game. VEGAS.CFG is an ASCII file
that may be edited with any ascii editor to change your configuration without
having to run VEGASCFG.EXE! The format of VEGAS.CFG is as follows:
C:\BBS\DORINFO1.DEF - Complete path and filename to your BBS dropfile
The Midnight Caller - Your BBS name
John - SysOp's first name
Craven - SysOp's last name
00000000 - Registration code if registered otherwise any 8 digits
20 - Number of turns per game 5-50 (20 recommended)
Las Vegas Slots supports the following BBS dropfiles:
DORINFOx.DEF - For RA/QBBS/RBBS (replace x with node #)
PDBOARD.SYS - For PCBoard systems using PCBOARD.SYS only
USERS.SYS - For PCBoard systems using USERS.SYS
CALLINFO.BBS - For Wildcat! systems prior to v3.2
CHAIN.TXT - For WWIV systems
SFDOORS.DAT - For Spitfire systems
DOOR.SYS - For systems that support DOOR.SYS in standard 52 line GAP format
USERINFO.DAT - For Wildcat! 3.x+ systems
GTUSER.BBS - For GT Power systems
Call the door with your door batch file and pass the config file on the command
line.
ie: CD\DOORS\VEGAS
VEGAS VEGAS.CFG
CD\BBS
BBS
Las Vegas Slots also supports non-standard com port setups. COM 1-4 on the
standard IRQ's - COM1/COM3=IRQ4 and COM2/COM4=IRQ3. If you want to use a
non-standard IRQ, add the IRQ number after the configuration file name.
If you wanted to use COM1 and IRQ5 the command line would be:
VEGAS VEGAS.CFG /5. NO /x parameter is needed for standard IRQ's!
Thats all there is to it! The SLOTSCOR.DAT file created by VEGASCFG.EXE is an
Ascii file listing of the top ten winners on the slot machine which lists
player name, winnings, and date won. The ALLTIME.DAT file created maintains
the information for the all time high scorer. To clear the scores and start a
new scoreboard, simply run VEGASCFG.EXE again and select the reset scores
options!
REGISTRATION
This door was compiled with Microsoft QuickBASIC 4.5 using Ted Freeman's
DOORFRAME library. If you find this door entertaining and wish to use it
on your BBS after a 30 day trial period, it should be registered. Simply fill
out the REGISTER.FRM and mail it to the address on the form. Registration is
only $10.00 U.S. funds and covers all bug fixes (if any are found <G>) for
version 1.1. Thanks for your support!
