  3. Welcome to Valence, my new QWK door for Searchlight.

  5. Notice this message is number "0" - that's because it isn't really in
  6. your mailbox, only in your packet. It's auto-sent to every new user,
  7. along with "bulletin 0", the user documentation file for Valence, which
  8. you may already have read. If not, it should be in your packet under the
  9. name "BLT-0.0" (or "BLT-1.0", if you're in Yucky mode). You may want to
  10. save this "bulletin" for future reference. It's a bit long (around 40k),
  11. so you may not want to read it all now. You don't need to read ANY of it
  12. to use Valence. (But it might be a good idea.)

  14. This is version 1.0 of Valence, so despite by best efforts, there are
  15. bound to be a few bugs left unsquashed. Please report any you find to
  16. me. You can netmail me at the address above (1:379/301) - send it to
  17. "WILLIAM MCBRINE", *NOT* "SYSOP" - or use the addresses below. This is
  18. not only a fake MAIL message, but a fake Netmail message, too. :-)
  19. (Sending netmail from within Valence is not supported quite yet; you'll
  20. have to use the BBS.)

  22. If you have any suggestions or comments, let me know. The default
  23. settings in Valence are set pretty much by my personal preference; tell
  24. me what YOU would like them to be.

  41. "McBride" nor "McBrian" nor any other variation; it's "McBrine".
  42. M-C-B-R-I-N-E. If you mispell my name in e-mail, I will probably not
  43. receive it. I hate having to say this, but people mess up my name all
  44. the time.
