Thanks for taking the time to acquire this collection of compiled
PcPlus 2.01 aspect scripts for use with TW 2002. These scripts were
written to automate some of the repetitious aspects that are inherent
in TW2002. There is nothing in this package that will make you a smarter
player. What they will do is help you to maximize the use of your online
time.
I wrote these scripts in the aspect language of PcPlus 2.01 for one
reason and one reason only. That being.... it's the software _I_ use for
my online antics. When I started writing them I had no intention what so
ever of putting them together as Shareware. I wrote them to increase my
own enjoyment of the game. They did that for me and I hope you will find
they do the same for you.

Section 1. Setup
a. Copy all files into a single directory. If you already have a directory
you use for TW put them there.
b. Copy the AUTOPLAY.KEY file into your PcPlus 2.xx directory.
In order to run the AutoPlay scripts PcPlus must know where to find
the files. This can be done either by switching to that directory with the
ALT-F7 command when you want to run them or by putting the directory in
your path statement.
If you want to avoid all possible hassle, copy all the AutoPlay files
into your PcPlus 2.xx directory. If you ran the install program in PcPlus
the PcPlus directory should already be in your path.
Section 2. Scripts run from the AutoPlay menu.
******* All Scripts should be run with ANSI off. *******
******* All Scripts can be exited with the ESC key. *******
PAIRED PORT TRADER
a. Start in one of the paired ports you want to alternate trade
between.
b. Have your holds full of one of the products you want to deal
in.
c. Know the sector number of each port.
d. Know if the product you wish to buy will be the first or second
product offered. You must know for each port.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
Current Port sector? - Enter sector number of the port your in.
# of Product sold? - Enter 1 to buy 1st product offered, 2 for 2nd
Current Ports pair? - Enter sector number of the other port.
# of Product sold? - Enter 1 to buy 1st product offered, 2 for 2nd
Add to Sell (ex. .04) - Enter the percentage to add to sale price.
For example .04 would add 4% to your counter
offer for the product your selling. 4% usually
will get you in the 98% to 99% percent of full
price range.
Add to Buy (ex .05) - Enter the percentage to add to buying price.
.05 (5%) usually is in the 98% to 99% of full
price range.
The percentages can be increased up to three decimal places to try to inch
closer to the full price. For example if .04 gets you 98% of full price and
that's not close enough for you, start over and try .045 or .049.
STEAL SELL CYCLE
a. Start in a port that buys equiptment with as many holds of equiptment
you want to use.
b. Know how many different products the port sells, if any.
c. Know a price offer the port will accept. The easiest way to find this
is to run a cycle by hand.
d. You must have a psychic probe for this script to work.
e. See Section 3 The Meta Key file for a Steal Sell script for use with
no psychic probe.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
Number of Products Sold: - Enter the total number of products sold
at the port. 0, 1 or 2.
Number of Holds: - Enter the number of holds you want to use.
Your Best Offer: - Enter an amount you know will be accepted.
The Script will figure 100% of the best price the port is accepting on
the current cycle and use it in place of the offer you entered at the
prompt. If the port is one that has multiple best prices it won't always
accept the offer the first time. The script will then haggle for as high
a price as it can. If the port does not kick you out or you are not busted
the Script will run until there are no turns left. All scripts can be
exited with the ESC key at any time. THIS SCRIPT DOES NOT ROUND OFF 150
HOLDS PRICE TO 0 or 5. That must be done manually with the alternate script
run from the AutoPlay.key meta key file. See Section 3.
POPULATION
This Script moves colonists from one planet in a sector to another planet
in the same sector.
a. Start in the sector the planets are in.
b. Know the number of the planet your moving colonists from.
c. Know the number of the planet your moving colonist to.
d. Make sure your holds are empty.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
What planet # are you moving from? - Enter the planet number.
What planet # are you moving to? - Enter the planet number.
Which group are you moving from?
Ore (1), Organics (2), Equiptment (3)? - Enter 1, 2 or 3.
Which group are you moving to? - Enter 1, 2 or 3.
This is a fairly "dumb" script and will continue to run until you stop
it with the ESC key. Don't walk away from this one.
MOVE PRODUCT
This Script moves a product from one planet in a sector and places it
on another planet in the same sector.
a. Start in the sector the planets are in.
b. Know the number of the planet your moving product from.
c. Know the number of the planet your moving product to.
d. Make sure your holds are empty.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
What Planet # are you moving from? - Enter planet number
What planet # are you moving to? - Enter planet number
Which product are you moving?
Ore (1), Organics (2), Equiptment (3)? - Enter 1, 2 or 3
This is a fairly "dumb" script and will continue to run until you stop
it with the ESC key. Don't walk away from this one.
RECORD BUST
This Script will record a busted sector in a file. You are asked for a
file name and .BST is added as it's extension.
a. Know the name of the file you want the bust recorded in. This file can
be named any DOS legal file name up to eight characters. .BST will be
added as an extension.
b. Know the sector number you want to record.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
Enter name of Bust file (no extension): - Enter a file name.
Where'd they catch ya? - Enter the sector number
If no file exists with the name you enter, one will be created in the
current directory. This file can later be read from with the "Check for
Bust" script. The date is automatically recorded with the sector.
CHECK FOR BUST
This Script reads from a .BST file to check a port for a previous bust.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
Enter Bust file (no extension): - Enter name of .BST file to check.
Enter Port to check: - Enter the sector number of the port.
The Script checks the file for a record of the sector and reports what
it finds. You must be in the directory that contains the file or the
directory it is in must be in your path.
CIM REPORT
This script accesses the Computer Interrogation Mode and writes both the
port and sector reports to separate .PRT and .SCT files.
a. Start the script at the main Command? prompt.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
File Name: - Enter a legal Dos filename up to eight characters. The
.SCT and .PRT extensions will be added by the script.
The files generated by this script are usable by TWVIEW. I am not sure
about TWASSIST because I have never used it. From what I have read in the
Trade Wars echo they should work with it also.
CEYLAD
This Script will run the ceyladceyla series of key strokes.
a. Start on the planet.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
Number of cycles? - Enter the number of cycles to run.
If you know what this is about you know how to figure the number of cycles.
If you don't...... read the FidoNet Trade Wars echo.
DISRUPT
This Script automates the mine disrupting sequence of keystrokes.
a. Start in an adjacent sector to the target sector.
b. Know the target sectors number.
c. Know how many disruptors you are carrying.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
Enter target sector - Enter the target sectors number.
Number to fire? - Enter the number of disruptors to fire.
The Script will continue to fire disruptors into the target sector until
all mines are destroyed or until the number to fire is reached. Obviously
it won't fire more than you have so don't enter more than you have.
FIRE PROBES
This Script will accept an input of upto ten sector numbers and fire an
ether probe into each sector. No further input is required during it's
operation.
a. Make sure the neccessary probes are on board.
b. Have a list of sectors ready to input.
Bring up the AutoPlay menu with ALT-0. Use the arrow keys to select
Paired Port and answer the prompts:
Enter target sector: - Enter the target sectors one at
Enter 0 to end input - time. Enter 0 to end the list.
The Script will fire ether probes into each sector in the order entered.
If you want a record of the information gathered you can either open a log
file before starting or write the scroll back buffer to a file when the
script ends. The information can be reviewed online using the scroll back
function built into ProComm Plus.
The script answers no to the "mark as avoid prompt" if it is encountered
during it's operation. You will want to review any mined sectors passed
through.
Section 3. The AUTOPLAY.KEY file.
ALT-1 This macro turns on the computer, asks for a port display and
turns off the computer.
ALT-2 This macro leaves 1 defensive fighter in the current sector.
ALT-3 This macro picks up all the fighters in the current sector.
ALT-4 unused
ALT-5 unused
ALT-6 unused
ALT-7 Steal Sell Cycle that DOES NOT figure best price. This is good for
use with overloaded holds or an Evil ISS.
ALT-8 This macro will shell out to run TWVIEW's Examine.exe if it is in
the current directory.
ALT-9 This macro will shell out and run TWVIEW's Convert.exe if it is
in the current directory.
ALT-0 THIS IS THE MAIN MACRO. It brings up the PowerPlus menu by calling
Menu.Asx.
IMPORTANT !!
The AUTOPLAY Meta Key file can be added to or changed to suit your needs.
MENU.ASX is the script that runs the AutoPlay menu. You need to be able
to run it to access the other scripts. If you change ALT-0 be sure to set
up another way to run it.
