Trek Trivia Online
1.0 --- First Beta copy being tested on selected BBS's
Many screens writes corrected and one calculation routine fixed.
1.1 --- Optimized code to speed it up
1.2 --- Added some sub-menu commands
Added the Option to play NEW or OLD series questions
1.3 --- Changed the High Score Bulletin to a Current Score Bulletin
1.4 --- More Optimizing and removed several screen re-writes to save
even more time.
Corrected mistake with the question worth routine
1.5 --- Found we where calling a subroutine from the wrong place.
Moved it and now all works well! <we think!>
1.6 --- Found error when asking for instructions from beginning of the
door, you would be brought to main menu and skip over a MAJOR
routine needed to access the trivia files.. FIXED!
1.7 --- Fixed cursor positions for sub menu and command line. Wasn't
returning the cursor correctly.
1.8 --- Recompiled to handle all BBS specific files more effeciently
and improved a screen write routine
1.9 --- Fixed error when a drop carrier occured when leaving bulletin
at exit of door.. (didn't have a carrier check there!)
2.0 --- Removed the BIG LETTER opening screen and added a good graphic
of the Enterprise. Speeded up the opening screen and corrected
the spelling mistakes. Also eliminated the StarShip screen in
two areas of the game, making it faster for slower modems.
2.1 --- Fixed error on score keeping when entering door second time.. had
omitted a routine accidentally... should work now.
2.2 --- Added configurable number of questions per game.
2.3 --- Removed the number of times in door.. per request of many sysops
2.4 --- Redid the random point worth routine.
2.5 --- Removed the first menu and added commands to the playing screen.
2.6 --- Added a bonus round.
2.7 --- Added option to add a question/answer.
2.8 --- Changed Main Menu.
2.9 --- Fixed error in bonus round.
3.0 --- Complete re-write of the door. First, enhanced the bonus round so
that only someone who guessed all questions right would automatically
be brought to the bonus round. No matter how many guesses it took.
Moved all Main Menu commands to playing screen to speed up game.
Allows anyone to add a question and answer on the way out of door.
Allows winner to wager some of their points in the Bonus Round.
Added Color toggle to playing screen. Added Re-Draw option to the
playing screen.. plus optimized some of the code.
3.1 --- Re-compiled with a new copy of doorframe. Non-standard IRQ's now
acceptable, reading PCBoard drive and directory variables.
3.2 --- Re-compiled with a new copy of doorframe. Now accepts all the
environment variables.. can set your own in batch file.. Shorten
a routine for questions and answers.. shouldn't get duplicates as
often unless your data files are very small.. if registered, get
the trek util to add more questions and answers.
3.3 --- Beta test version with new bonus round added.. we felt that if all
where able to download this version it may cause hangs and some of
you wouldn't appreciate that.. so we kept this version beta only.
3.4 --- New version with bonus round available for all along with some
routines being shortened to enable faster access to the caller.
Re-compiled with new version of DoorFrame and now allows all to
enter a question on way out of door.. Utility not ready yet to
merge new questions with existing databases..
3.4a -- Fixed prompt when in NON graphics mode.. the asterik didn't display
to show how to "Quit to BBS"!
3.5 -- Re-compiled with new version of doorframe for BasCom 7.1 and you
MUST have the brt71efr.exe file in your path for this version. Also
changed some screen writing.. eliminated the Enterprise opening menu
and replaced with "bigletters".. also improved routine that will try
and avoid same question twice in one play if database is too small.
3.6 -- Added option for number of times in game per day.. IMPORTANT, the
registration number is line FIVE, line SIX is Number of Questions
allowed per game and LINE seven is Number of times allowed in per
day. Optimized some code for faster screen writes.
3.7 -- Re-Compiled with new DoorFrame to add DigiBoard compatability and
optimized screen writes for faster game play to lower baud callers.
3.8 -- Re-Compiled with new doorframe. No Need for any additional files in
this version. (brt71efr.exe). Took out the option of times allowed
in per day.. NO LINE 7 in the CFG file with this version. Will put
this option in at some other time.
3.9 -- Re-Compiled with doorframe for Visual Basic. Com-ports 0-15. DV
aware and needs NO ADDITIONAL FILE!
