▒▒▒▒ ■ ▒▒▒▒ Instructors, personnel officers, and self-study persons often

~F─~F═ certify personnel for particular tasks
~S~W~ICAITeach~Y~I, as summarized next, meets that need.~s

███ ~W~ICAITeach~Y~I is a tool which supplements ~W~ITW~Y~I by helping one write,
██ administer, and score objective tests that are run from
██ ~W~ITutorialWriter~Y~I.
██
████
████ ~C~ICAITest~Y~I are written by merging prepared templates into an
██ editor, or word processor in the ASCII mode, filling in the
████ template form, and saving the ~C~Inew~Y~I file. That ~C~Inew~Y~I file
█▌ is the ~C~Itest~Y~I, or ~C~ICAITest~Y~I.
████
████ When run from inside ~W~ITutorialWriter~Y~I, ~W~ICAITeach~Y~I displays the
██ questions, constantly updates the screen, and, optionally,
████ prints a data sheet. That data sheet identifies the student
██ and documents the test score.

▄█▀▀▀▀▀█▄ .∙ So, in summary, ~W~ICAITeach~Y~I helps us write tests which
▐█▐─ô═ô─▌█▌∙. are run from ~W~ITutorialWriter~Y~I. ~W~IThat's all~Y~I.
└┤ ┌┘ .∙
│█▀▀▀█│ Your approach to learning ~W~ICAITeach~Y~I depends on your
└┬███┬┘ learning patterns. Some of us want to experiment, others
▒▒▒▒ ■ ▒▒▒▒ want to know exactly what to expect before we do anything.
But, I suspect most of use are in the middle somewhere.
Please read ~C~IHelp Items~Y~I:
~F─~F═ ~M~IHelp on Help~Y~I
~F─~F═ ~M~ILearning Paths~Y~I
~F─~F═ ~M~ISteps~Y~I
If you find all this elementary read the hypertext ~C~IJump Start~Y~I, and
~M~IExpert~Y~I in ~C~IHelp~Y~I and you'll be writing your first test in half an hour.

Remember~F...~F
If you've written a program or two in ~C~ITW~Y~I you already understand
the basic concepts of ~C~ICAITeach~Y~I.
Instead of writing a ~C~ITW~Y~I script you merge template files into an
editor, write the questions and save the file. That is your test.
See ~C~ISteps~Y~I on ~W~IQuick Reference~Y~I printout, and ~C~IJump Start~Y~I.
If you understand ~C~IJump Start~Y~I start writing your test. The first
screen of each chapter has a ~C~IPreview~Y~I which I suggest you scan.
When you finish this tutorial you will conclude that 99% of what
you need to know is on the two page ~W~IQuick Reference~Y~I.
~STry not to get lost in all the detail.~s

What you do next is up to you.
If you're a beginner you should start with the Chapter 1 and
continue with the tutorial until you can do ~C~IJump Start~Y~I.
If you understand the basic elements of ASCII files, print
~W~I{QIKREF.DOC~Y~I, and ~W~I{NUMAID.DOC~Y~I; examine ~W~I{4TYPES.CHP~Y~I
in your editor and start writing. Optionally you may wish
to print the 40 page manual {MANUAL.DOC for reference.
If you are not quite sure print ~W~IQIKREF.DOC~Y~I, and ~W~I{NUMAID.DOC~Y~I,
then go on to Chapter 1 of the tutorial.
Just as soon as you understand most of the elements of ~W~I{QIKREF.DOC~Y~I,
abandon the tutorial and write a question or two and test your
test at DOS, as specified in ~C~ISteps~Y~I, ~W~IQuick Reference~Y~I.
