You have chosen Time Door's help. This help is the general main menu help.
Every other menu also contains a [H]elp option that will allow you to get more
specific help on that portion of the program.
The operation of Time Door is relatively simple with a few commands remaining
consistent throughout the door. These are . . . .
[Q]uit back to BBS - The [Q] command will take you back to the BBS when
selected from any menu.
[R]eturn to Main Menu - The [R] command will return you to this menu.
Remember, you don't have to return to the main menu
to leave Time Door.

[H]elp - The [H] command will give you help on the menu you
are currently using. It will be different for every
menu.
[D]eposit The Deposit and Withdraw time options are available
on [W]ithdrawal- on every menu EXCEPT the byte bank menu.
The following items are available on the main menu. NOTE: You may not have
access to all options.
1) Time Bank - This will allow you to store time for later use. Also,
this will be the option you will need to choose if you
wish to withdraw some of your stored time.

sys-tem. There are various games (all explained in the
gamble menu [H]elp) that allow you to gamble your time
left.
3) Transfer Time - This allows you to transfer time to other users. The
time will be taken from your time left on system and
given to the user's time bank account.
4) Byte/Download - This bank allows you to store kilobytes or downloads
Bank that you may not need, for later use.

You should only use this if you are calling with a comp-
uter that doesn't support graphics, a 40 column
computer, or if you are calling at 300 baud. I wrote
this program with the emphasis being on computers
supporting graphics so it is best to use them if
possible.
G) Goodbye - Logs you off the BBS. This is like the [G]oodbye
function on the BBS which will log you off the BBS.

Here are a few words about your time limit.
1) Your time limit is reset on your first call every day. This means that
if you withdraw 120 minutes and hang up, you will not have the extra 120
minutes tomorrow.
2) You can lose ALL your time in the gambling portion. This door does not
give free time to those who lose all their time.
3) If you drop carrier on this door, all data files will still be updated
so don't hang up to try to get your time back.
That's all there is to it. If you don't know what a command does, try it. Even
when you are in the gambling portion, you will be warned before getting into a
situation that may cause you to lose your time. Don't be afraid to explore!

What is time banking?
─────────────────────
If you are reading this, you are probably asking the above question. Time
banking is treated like regular banking except that time is the currency. You
simply store time in the bank for when you need it. For Example: Perhaps you
need 61 minutes to download a long file but your time limit is 60 minutes.
This will allow you to download that file by depositing one or more minutes
and withdrawing the time the next day or whenever you are ready.

How Time Bank Works and Its Limits
──────────────────────────────────
When you DEPOSIT time, the time deposited will be taken from the time you
have left on the system and stored in your account. When you WITHDRAW time
from your account, your time left on the system will be increased. The limits
that apply to you will be listed at the end of this help.
The MAXIMUM BALANCE is the maximum amount of time you may keep in the bank.
Time Door will not allow you to store more than the maximum balance.
The MAXIMUM DAILY WITHDRAWAL is the maximum amount of time you may withdraw
in one day from your account. Usually, the maximum withdrawal will be
lower than the maximum balance.

Besides [H]elp, [Q]uit back to BBS (see Main Menu Help), and [R]eturn to main
menu there are only two options on this menu. They are....
[D]eposit Time - Place time in your account.
[W]ithdraw Time - Take time from your account an add it to your time limit.
If you decide that you don't want to withdraw or deposit time after selecting
one of the options, simply press [Enter] when asked how much time you would
like to deposit or withdraw.
** Note: When depositing time, don't deposit all your time. Please allow a few
minutes to log off properly. Time Door may withdraw time from your account and
give it to you if you run out of time in this door.

Time Gamble allows you to play with your time limit in four different ways.
Remember the three commands [H]elp, [Q]uit Back to BBS, and [R]eturn to Main
menu are the same as on all other menus (see Main Menu Help for more
information on those commands).
In the three games, you will be asked before you actually risk any time so if
you read the prompts you won't lose any time without knowing what happened.
Now to the fun part. The three games offered are....
S) Scratch - N - Win: This game is similar to the scratch off games used by
many states. In case your state doesn't have a lottery don't worry because the
concept is very simple. After you buy a ticket, scratch the ticket to see if
you are a winner. In the Scratch-N-Win game you can win up to one hour of
time.

┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
└─────────────────────────> Time Gamble Help (cont) <────────────────────────┘
T) Trivia Challenge: Trivia Challenge is different from the other games in two
ways. One, you decide what to risk. Two, its not odds but your knowledge that
decides if you win. You first decide what you want to risk. After doing this,
you will be given a multiple choice question. If you choose the correct answer
from the six provided, you will win what you bet in the first place. If you
don't choose the correct answer, the amount you bet will be taken off your
time left.
R) Time Raffle: Time Raffle is the cheapest of the four games. In this game
you simply buy one or more tickets. The game will then list all your tickets.
If you win, the pot will be added to your time limit. Part of every ticket
bought will be added to the pot. Also, part of every ticket bought will be
given to the house so there is not a 100% return on tickets bought. Finally
if you buy more tickets than necessary to win, the excess time will be
credited back to your time left.

└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
└─────────────────────────> Time Gamble Help (cont) <────────────────────────┘
F) Face Race: In face race, you bet on which face will win place or show. You
then enter the amount of your bet and whether your think your picked face will
WIN, PLACE, or SHOW. WIN means your think the face will come in first. This
is the least likely to happen therefore it pays more to bet that the face will
WIN. PLACE means you think the face will come in first or second and SHOW
means you think the face will come in first, second, or third. Since a bet to
PLACE or SHOW is more likely to pay off, the return is lower. So in Face Race,
you have to decide whether to go for the big payoff by betting a long shot or
play it safe for a lower return. Its your call!

A) Add a Trivia Question: This option allows you to add questions to the
trivia database. This is a good idea because you might get your own
question one day! NOTE: Questions are reviewed by the SysOp before they
are added and are marked with your name.
B) Gambling Statistics: Time Door keeps track of all the time that you lose or
win and by using this option you can view these totals. You can also view how
you compare to other users.
That's all there is to it. GOOD LUCK!!

Every now and then, you may need to help another user. Perhaps your friend
needs to complete his 20 turns in TradeWars so your team can be victorious.
The only problem is your friend only has 2 minutes left. (He lost all his time
in the gambling portion of Time Door.) Well with Time Transfers, you can place
some time in his Time Bank account which he can withdraw. The operation is
simple but there are some restrictions.
1) You can't cause the user to exceed the maximum balance.
2) The user must be a Time Door user for the transfer to take place. If the
user you're attempting to transfer time to has never used Time Door, the
transfer won't be allowed.
3) Depending on SysOp preference, you may or may not be allowed to transfer
time to users who have different security levels.

To transfer time to another user, use the following procedure.
Pick [1] - You will be asked for part of the user's name. You can enter the
user's full name but it isn't necessary. When a user matching the part you
entered has been found, you will be asked if the correct user has been found.
If it hasn't, answer "[N]o" and the search will continue. If Time Door informs
you that the user's name wasn't found in the database, check the spelling or
you can list the TIME DOOR users by choosing option 2.
** Once you have selected a user, option 3 will appear on your menu.
Select option 3 and you will be prompted for the amount of time you would like
to transfer. That time will be taken immediately from your time left and then
it will be added to that person's time bank account. You can then select
another user or give more time to that user by selecting [3] again.

Your SysOp allows you to download a certain number of files and kilobytes
each day. There are times that you may want to download more files than
you are allowed or you may want to exceed the kilobytes you are given
each day. This bank allows you to store downloads or kilobytes that you don't
need one day and use those files or kilobytes on a day in the future.
The commands on this menu include:
[D] Deposit bytes or downloads. This option will first list your statistics
for the day and then ask if you want to deposit downloads. Your download
deposit cannot exceed the maximum balance set by the SysOp. After you
answer the questions regarding the download balance, you are asked if you
want to deposit kilobytes. This balance also has a SysOp set limit.

When you make a "deposit", downloads and/or kilobytes in the amount of
your deposit are added to your daily total. For example, if you have
download 1 file for 200 kilobytes today and you deposit 5 downloads and
300 kilobytes, 5 downloads and 300 kilobytes will be added to your total
for the day. In other words, Wildcat! will think you have downloaded 6
files and 500 kilobytes. These new totals may cause Wildcat! to reject any
download attempts for the rest of the day. Deposits do not effect your
overall download/kilobyte totals.
[W] Withdraw bytes or downloads. This option allows you to withdraw downloads
or kilobytes that you have stored with the [D] option. You will be first
asked if you want to withdraw downloads and then you will be asked if you
want to download kilobytes. In both cases, you can't withdraw more than
you have banked. The SysOp can also set limits on the maximum number of
downloads or kilobytes that you can withdraw in one day. You will be told
the maximum withdrawals before you are asked for your preferences.

more than they won. The last column of the list gives the % return. This is
the percent of the time gambled that the user has won.
4) Users With Overrides: This lists all users with overrides as set in the

5) List Users With Time Prizes: Lists all users with time prizes. Prizes
