About ...
The first line shows the program name, version and release date.
The second line is a copyright statement.
The third line shows which version of DOS you are using, and how much
memory is available for data. For TCmenu this memory is limited to
40 Kb, so in this case the amount of free memory will be rather low).
*DIS
Display
Language = Choose between NO (Norwegian) or UK. Other
languages may be available.
Tab stops = Set the number of spaces to insert when
the Tab key is pressed.
Beep = Turn beep (errors and warnings) on or off.
43/50-line mode = EGA screens : 43 lines,
VGA screens : 50 lines.
Mouse support = Turn the mouse pointer on or off.
Left handed mouse = Switch the two buttons on the mouse (forget
the one in the middle, if you have one). If
you are right handed, the left button will be
used to select and the right one means "Esc".
Support for Ctrl+Ins = Turn support for Ctrl+Ins (paste) on or off.
This support captures DOS Interrupt 9, which
can cause problems with Windows.
*KBD
Keyboard
Home = Top of window Ctrl+PgUp = Top of list
End = Bottom of window Ctrl+PgDn = Bottom of list
= Move cursor up PgUp = Page up
= Move cursor down PgDn = Page down
Ctrl+F1 = Select character
To select from the main menu, press the Alt key together with the
highlighted character in the item you want.
If you press F10 (or the Alt key once), the cursor will move to the
main menu.
Use the cursor keys to move the cursor. Select an item by pressing
Enter or by pressing the highlighted character in the desired item.
You may also use the hotkey indicated to the right of each item,
or the hotkey you have defined for that function.
*CP
Select character
This function is activated by pressing Ctrl+F1.
Move the cursor to the desired character in the table and press Enter,
or press Esc for no selection.
*COL
Select colors
Press F1 and select "Keyboard" for more help about keys.
Move the cursor with the cursor keys. You will see in the example
how the colors fit your screen. In addition you may use these keys:
Enter = Save colors
Tab = Next element
Shift+Tab = Previous element
F7 = Select or edit palettes
Esc = Cancel
*HLP
Using help
Select "OK" to switch between the index and the topics (you may also
press the Enter key). Select "Index" to see an index of the help
file.
Select "Cancel" or press the Esc key to exit help.
In order to move around in the help screens, you may use the arrow keys
and the Page Up and Page Down keys. If you are using a mouse, you may
click on the scrollbar to the right of the help screen.
