Associated files
If you associate files with programs, that program is started when you
press Enter after having highlighted a file which matches the supplied
filespec.
You may specify more than one file pattern by separation them with a
semicolon (;). Example: *.ZIP;*.ARC
In the program column, you must supply the line needed to start the
program, with a percent sign where you want the filename to appear.

Backup
Specify whether you want to include subdirectories in the backup, and
if you want to include files that have changed since the last backup
(ie. with the archive bit set). These selections are the same as
specifying /S og /A for the BACKUP command in DOS.

Configuration
Specify your preferences and press Enter to save or Esc to cancel.

Create directory
Type the name of the new directory and press Enter. Remember that a
directory name can have an extension.

Error when creating file
Press Y if you want to have another try. If not, press N. Press
Esc if you want to cancel the operation.
A common error is attempting to copy or move files to a destination
which is write protected (a single file or an entire drive).
Another common error will occur when you try to delete a file which
is Read Only. You can turn off the Read Only flag of that file if
you want to delete it.

Fast search
To find a file or directory quickly, type the first few characters
in its name. The cursor will move to the first matching file or
directory. If there are more names that match, you may move to the
next by pressing Ctrl+Enter.

Find file
Type search pattern for the file(s) you will find. In addition to the
standard search patterns you can use in DOS (*.COM, BA*.BAT, *.*,
etc.), you may use asterisks and question marks like this;
*T.BAT File names that end with T, extension BAT
*.*X Extensions that end with X
*Z*.*Y* File names that contain Z, extensions that contain Y
*.DOC Extension DOC
NA*.COM File names that start with NA and have extension COM
TEST?.* File names that start with TEST plus one character
any extension
DEP???N*.DOC DEP plus three characters plus N, extension DOC

Hotkeys
Move the cursor to one of the functions and press the desired hotkey
combination for that function. Example: Alt+C for Copy.
By pressing F10, your selected hotkey will be indicated on the
bottom line.
Press Enter to save the hotkeys, or Esc to cancel.

Listed file
If you have not specified a list utility, the "list" function will
show the file in a window. If it is a COM or EXE file, it will be
displayed with hexadecimal values to the left and text to the right.
All other files will be displayed as text.
Press F8 or Shift+F5 to switch between text and hexadecimal view.

Logged drives
Select which drives to log. To log a drive means that the directory
structure is written to a file, which is loaded much faster than the
actual structure.

From the main menu you can select one of the following submenus:

From this menu you can select one of the following items:
Backup Backup files in selected directory
Create directory Create new diretory under selected directory
Delete Delete tagged or current file
Edit Edit file using specified editor
List List file using specified list program
Run Run program / batch file with specified parameters
Set attributes Set attributes (R, H, S og A) for tagged or
current file
Rename Rename files or directories
Copy Copy files or directories
Move Move files or directories
Compare Compare size and time for files in two directories
Exit Exit program

From this menu you can select one of the following items:
Colors Change colors
Display Select language and screen mode
Configuration Change configuration (editor, lister, etc.)
Hotkeys Define your own hotkeys
Logged drives Decide which drives you want to log
Associated files Create links between files and the programs that
own them

Menu View
From this menu you can select one of the following items:
Include files Specify which files you want the system to list (RHSA)
Sort by Specify how you want to sort the file names
Select files
Files/Tree Switch between files and directory tree in current
window
Select drive Select another drive
Find Find files
Refresh Refresh log file for directory tree. Use this
function if directories have been created or deleted
by programs other than TCfiler (for example when
installing a new program).

Menu Window
From this menu you can select one of the following items:
Close Close current window
Close All Close all windows
Select Select window from a list

Name of new directory or new name for the file
When you copy or move a file and choose "Other" as destination, you
may type anything. If what you write is not an existing directory,
you will be asked if you want a new directory to be created, or if
what you wrote is the new name of the file.

Rename file or directory
Type the new name for the file or directory. Press Enter to rename.

Rename when copying / moving
When you copy or move a file, you may want to rename the file at its
new location. Type the new name over the old and press Enter. If
you are copying a file, the old name will remain unchanged.
If you do not want to be asked this question for the remainder of the
files, press Ctrl+Enter.
Press Esc to cancel copying / moving.

Run program / batch file
Type the parameters to be given to the program or batch file you
have selected. Example: If the program is EDLIN.COM, you could
type C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT as a parameter.

directory from one of the directory trees. You can also specify
something else, for example A: or B:.

Set attribute
The attributes for a file determines how it is to be treated. For
instance, a file which is ReadOnly can not be replaced or deleted.
The DOS command DIR will not liste files which are Hidden.

Sort
Specify how you want to sort the files. The sorted list is NOT
written back to disk.
