  223.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  224.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  225.  files in a window.  After the window is
  226.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  227.  pressing the space bar.  After all files

  229.  process the tagged files.

  232.  This option will allow you to add or
  233.  update the compressed file comments.

  236.  This option will delete all files that
  237.  are contained in the compressed file
  238.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  239.  one specified via the ALT-P command.

  241. *alte  !!extract list!!
  242.  This option allow you to specify which
  243.  files to extract from the compressed
  244.  file. You may specify more the one
  245.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  246.  cards are allowed.
  247.  
  248. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  249.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  250.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  251.  of files in a window.  After the window
  252.  is displayed you tag the files to
  253.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  254.  After all files have been tagged press
  255.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  256.  files.
  257.  
  258. *altg   !!search for string!!
  259.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  260.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  261.  characters using the program FGREP.COM
  262.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  263.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  264.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  265.  completed to results will be listed on the
  266.  screen.
  267.  
  268. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  269.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  270.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  271.  of files in a window.  After the window
  272.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  273.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  274.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  275.  key to process the tagged files.
  276.  
  277. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  278.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  279.  files from the compressed file into the
  280.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  281.  via the ALT-P command.
  282.  
  283. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  284.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  285.  and directory of where any extracted files
  286.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  287.  follows:
  288.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  289.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  290.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  291.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  292.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the enter
  293.  key.
  294.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  295.  use it's floating extract location
  296.  logic.
  297.  
  298. *altr !!rename highlighted!!
  299.  The ALT-R command allows you to rename the
  300.  currently hilighted file in the compressed
  301.  file. You will be prompted for a new name.
  302.  
  303. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  304.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  305.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  306.  the window pops up enter the first
  307.  character of the file you wish to find.
  308.  The display will be repositioned to the
  309.  first file in the list that starts with
  310.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  311.  stored in random order sort the list
  312.  first)
  313.  
  314. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  315.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  316.  the tagged file display line at the
  317.  bottom of the screen.
  318.  
  319. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  320.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  321.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  322.  of files in a window.  After the window
  323.  is displayed you tag the files to
  324.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  325.  After all files have been tagged press
  326.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  327.  files.
  328.  
  329. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  330.  This option will display the master
  331.  comment record and the file comment
  332.  records for the selected compressed
  333.  file.

  335. *altx  !!extract all!!
  336.  This option will extract ALL files from
  337.  the compressed file into the current
  338.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  339.  the ALT-P command.
  340.  
  341. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  342.  This option allows run a program against
  343.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  344.  to enter the program name to run, the
  345.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  346.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  347.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  348.  to pause after each execution of your
  349.  program.
  350.  
  351. *altz  !!virus check!!
  352.  This option will check files to see if they
  353.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  354.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  355.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  356.  and have used the configuration program to
  357.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  359.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  360.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  362. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  363.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  364.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  365.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  366.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  367.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  368.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  369.  compressed file contents screen.
  370.  
  371. *c  !!create-new!!
  372.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  373.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  374.  to enter the
  375.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  376.  compressed file to create, whether you
  377.  want to add or move files into the new
  378.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  379.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  380.  new compressed file.
  381.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  382.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  383.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  384.  PAK files!!!!!
  385.  
  386.  You will also be asked if you want to
  387.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  388.  the entered file spec as is.
  389.  
  390.  If the compression program you choose
  391.  supports saving path information you will
  392.  also be asked if you want to save
  393.  directory information, and if you want to
  394.  recurse the directory tree.
  395.  
  396.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  397.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  398.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  399.  information that can be stored inside the
  400.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  401.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  402.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  403.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)
  404.  
  405.  
  406. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  407.  This option will delete all tagged files
  408.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  409.  asked to verify the delete before the
  410.  files are actually deleted from the
  411.  compressed file.
  412.  
  413. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  414.  This option will extract all tagged
  415.  files from the compressed file.
  416.  
  417. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  418.  This option will activate the alternate
  419.  file viewer if one has been defined in
  420.  the SHEZ.EV external file.
  421.  PLEASE SEE  THE USER MANUAL FOR
  422.  INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP AN
  423.  ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  424.  
  425. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  426.  This option will set the compressed
  427.  file's time and date to the time and
  428.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  429.  the compressed file.
  430.  
  431. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  432.  This option will untag all currently
  433.  tagged files.
  434.  
  435. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  436.  This option will tag all files in the
  437.  currently displayed window.
  438.  
  439. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  440.  This option will convert a self
  441.  extracting file back to its native
  442.  compressed file format. The self
  443.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  444.  The normal compressed file will be
  445.  built on the same drive and directory
  446.  where self extracting file is found.
  447.  
  448. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  449.  This option allows you to copy all
  450.  tagged files from the current compressed
  451.  file into another compressed file.  The
  452.  target compressed file may be any
  453.  currently supported format.
  454.  
  455. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  456.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  457.  drop you off into disk and directory
  458.  that is specified as the extract
  459.  location.
  460.  
  461. *d  !!delete one file!!
  462.  This option will delete the currently
  463.  highlighted file from the compressed
  464.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  465.  delete before the delete is actually
  466.  done.
  467.  
  468. *e  !!extract one file!!
  469.  This option will extract the currently
  470.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  471.  drive and directory, or the
  472.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  473.  the ALT-P command.
  474.  
  475. *f      !!freshen!!
  476.  Using this option you can specify the
  477.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  478.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  479.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  480.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  481.  extensions.
  482.  
  483. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  484.  This option will temporarily exit to
  485.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  486.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  487.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  488.  the return key.
  489.  
  490. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  491.  This option will temporarily exit to
  492.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  493.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  494.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  495.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  496.  
  497. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  498.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  499.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  500.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  501.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  502.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  503.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  504.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  505.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  506.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  507.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  508.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  509.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  510.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  511.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  512.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  513.  
  514. *f8  !!edit!!
  515.  This option will allow you to edit a
  516.  file in the compressed file.  This
  517.  option will only work if you specified
  518.  an editor to use when you configured
  519.  compressedPER.
  520.  
  521. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  522.  Using this option you can specify how
  523.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  524.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  525.  Extension, Date, Size, or Unsorted.
  526.  
  527. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  528.  This option will allow you to set the
  529.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  530.  programs.  When you set the compression
  531.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  532.  change it again.
  533.  
  534.  
  535. *g  !!password!!
  536.  This option allows you to specify the password
  537.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  538.  compression program does not support passwords
  539.  an error window will appear informing you that
  540.  the option is not supported.
  541.  
  542. *i  !!show info!!
  543.  This option will show information about
  544.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  545.  files in file, total size of all files,
  546.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  547.  
  548. *m     !!mode!!
  549.  Using this option you can specify the
  550.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  551.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  552.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  553.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  554.  extensions.
  555.  
  556. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  557.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  558.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  559.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  560.  the compressed display heading line.
  561.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  562.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  563.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  564.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  565.  
  566. *p  !!path options!!
  567.  This option allows you to specify if you
  568.  want to save and/or use path information
  569.  when working with compressed files.
  570.  
  571. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  572.  This option will immediately exit
  573.  SHEZ.
  574.  
  575. *r  !!run a file!!
  576.  This option will extract and run the
  577.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  578.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  579.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  580.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  581.  deleted.
  582.  
  583. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  584.  This option allows you to add and or
  585.  update the comment records associated
  586.  with the currently highlighted file.
  587.  
  588. *sfts  !!add/update file comments!!
  589.  This option allows you to add and or
  590.  update the comment records assocaited
  591.  with each file in the compressed file.
  592.  
  593. *t  !!test compressed!!
  594.  This option will test the integrity of
  595.  the compressed file.
  596.  
  597. *u       !!update!!
  598.  Using this option you can specify the
  599.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  600.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  601.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  602.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  603.  extensions.
  604.  
  605. *v  !!view!!
  606.  This option will allow you to view the
  607.  contents of a file in the compressed
  608.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  609.  to view the file.
  610.  
  611. *z  !!mask!!
  612.  This option allows you to specify a file
  613.  mask to be used when displaying the
  614.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  615.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  616.  only the files having an extension of C
  617.  will be displayed on the screen.
  618.  
  619. *maltd !!view 4dos!!
  620.  This option will display the 4DOS or
  621.  NDOS file descriptions that are
  622.  maintained by the DESCRIBE command.
  623.  SHEZ can only handle a description
  624.  file that is 30,000 bytes or less.
  625.  
  626. *maltu !!update/add 4dos!!
  627.  This option allows you to update/add
  628.  NDOS/4DOS file descriptions to the
  629.  highlighted file.
  630.  This option only functions if you
  631.  are running under NDOS/4DOS.
  632.  
  633. *mtab !!open second file window!!
  634.  When the DOS directory window is
  635.  displayed, pressing the TAB key will
  636.  open a secondary directory display
  637.  window.  You may view other directories
  638.  and/or drives while this window is
  639.  open.  Pressing the TAB key again is
  640.  the only way to close the secondary
  641.  display window.
  642.
