THIS IS A LEGAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU, THE END USER, AND The
COMmunications NETwork School and Publishing Co. ("COMPANY").
BY USING THIS SOFTWARE, YOU ARE AGREEING TO BE BOUND BY THE
TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT.
1 SOFTWARE LICENSE
1.1 GRANT OF LICENSE.
COMPANY grants you the right to copy of the enclosed
software program (the "SOFTWARE") on any number of single
computers (i.e CPU). You may merge this software into an
executable load module (specifically, an MS-DOS COM or EXE
file, or functional equivalent).
1.2 COPYRIGHT.
The SOFTWARE is owned by COMPANY and is protected by United
States copyright laws and international treaty provisions.
Therefore, you must treat the SOFTWARE like any other
copyrighted material (e.g. a book or musical recording)
2 LIMITED WARRANTY
The SOFTWARE is provides "AS IS" without warranty of any
kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited
to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for
a particular purpose. The entire risk as to the quality and
performance of the software is with you. Should the software
prove defective, you shall assume the entire cost of all
necessary remedies.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties,
so the above exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty
gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other
rights which vary from state to state.
3 LIMITATIONS OF REMEDIES
The COMPANY's entire liability and your exclusive remedy
shall be at COMPANY's option (a) the repair or replacement of
the SOFTWARE that does not meet COMPANY's Limited Warranty
and which is returned to COMPANY, or (b) return of the
purchase price upon return of all copies of the SOFTWARE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL COMPANY be liable for any damages
whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss
of business profits, business interruption, loss of business
information, or other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use
of the SOFTWARE even if COMPANY has been advised of the
possibility of such damages. Because some states do not allow
the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or
incidental damages, the above limitation may not apply to
you.
This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of
New Mexico.
BY USING THIS SOFTWARE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ
THIS AGREEMENT, UNDERSTAND IT, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ITS
TERMS AND CONDITIONS. YOU FURTHER AGREE THAT IT IS THE
COMPLETE AND EXCLUSIVE STATEMENT OF THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN US,
WHICH SUPERCEDES ANY PROPOSAL OR PRIOR AGREEMENT, ORAL OR
WRITTEN, AND ANY OTHER COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN US RELATING TO
THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THIS AGREEMENT.
SHAREWARE
This is a ShareWare product that may be used and shared
freely. This product and all its parts may NOT be used as
part of or packaged with any other product. No fee other than
a distribution fee may be charged for this product. This
product is NOT Freeware. Registration of this product
includes the current CommercialWare version and free updates
for one year. Registration and registration fees must be
submitted within 30 days.
START UP
Screen Minder is a Microsoft Mouse driven program that
permits the use of the arrow keys, Alt & Key combinations, or
Tab & Enter rather than the mouse in most parts of the
program
To run Screen Minder:
1) All Screen Minder files should be placed
in the same directory. (We recomend
the use of the Root Directory).
2) Place the command to start your mouse
(MOUSE.EXE) in your AUTOEXEC.BAT. This
is optional, but recommended.
3) Place Screen Minder directory in your
AUTOEXEC.BATs PATH.
4) The last command in your AUTOEXEC.BAT
should be SCREEN.EXE
OPENING SCREEN
The Opening Screen consist of two buttons:
1) SETUP - Lets you select from a collection of
options that determine how Screen Minder will function. These
options may be saved and changed at a later time. SETUP can
be activated when the program first starts,or when returning
to Screen Minder after launching a program.
2) START - Places Screen Minder in active mode and
starts all clocks. Screen Minder creates two or more clocks on
your system.
SETUP
Buttons:
1) PassW - ShareWare Version - Information of
System PassWord.
Registered Version - Set user
defined Password.
2) Order - Information on ordering Registered
Version of Screen Minder. This Key
has other functions on the
Registered Version.
3) F-Key - Set filespecs for active function
keys.
PRESET KEYS:
Key F1 - This Help section.
(Locked)
Key F2 - Security List. This is
a listing of EXIT
attempts and program
launches. (Locked)
Key F3 - Runs INDIGO Dial
program. This will
call INDIGO CIS by
modem. This can be
changed by the user.
Key F4 - Reset TIME. This can
be changed by the
user.
Key F5 - Reset DATE. This can
be changed by the
user.
Key F10 -List current Directory.
This can be changed
by the user.
Key F11 -List Memory. This list
the amount of memory
that is being used and
that is available. The
PILOT program (which
is the shell) only
uses about 6k. This
can be changed by the
user.
Key F12 -Clean Security File
Listing. (Locked)
4) DisIn - This is the DisInstall Key. When
pressed after activating switch number
11 (DisInstall switch) all Screen Minder
files and programs will be removed from
your system. Do not forget to edit your
AUTOEXEC.BAT.
Switches:
1) Mouse On - Turns On/Off the Mouse active Button
on Display Screen. This Button is
used to turn On/Off the mouse curser.
2) Note Pad - Turns On/Off the display of the
on-screen Note Pad on Display Screen.
3) Clock - Turns clock On/Off on Display Screen.
4) 12hrCK - Switches clock from default 24 hour
display to 12 hour am/pm display.
5) FKeyOn - Turns On/Off the Function Key
activation key on the Display Screen.
This key permits the Launching of
programs.
6) Color Set- Turns On/Off the color access key on
the Main Display.
7) Word Pros- Turns On/Off the ASCI Word Editor
access key on the Main Display.
8) BackGround- Turns On/Off the sliding screen
background color. On is Blue, Off is
Sliding Colors.
9) Not Used
10) Not Used
11) DisInt - Set to on before pressing the DisIn
button. This will remove ALL Screen
Minder programs and files from your
system.
12) SAVE - Saves all settings to be automatically
set when Screen Minder next runs.
This is NOT required for current run
if you wish to keep previous
settings for future runs.
START:
The Start Key starts all clocks. The First screen shown is the
Termination Screen. This permits aborting the program at this
point. To start the Screen Saver press the EXIT Key or wait
until the counter reaches 50 - at which time Screen Minder
will start the Screen Saver automatically.
The Termination Screen permits about 50 seconds to enter the
password and press the EXIT Key before starting the Screen
Saver.
Function Keys:
These are not connected to the Functions Keys on your key
board. This is a display screen of 12 Function Keys and 4
Control Keys for a total of 48 possible Launch Key
combinations. Some of the Launch Keys are pre-defined, the
rest (over 40 in the registered version and 9 in the
ShareWare version) may be assigned filespecs or DOS commands
to Launch your programs.
When Function Keys are displayed select the Control Key (Key,
Alt, Shift, or Ctrl) then the F-Key. The continence or
filespecs for that key will be displayed in the dialog box.
Enter LANUCH to run the program, CLEAR to reset the keys,
EXIT to terminate and return to Screen Saver.
After every Launch (this dose not include Key-F1, Key-F2, or
Key 12). Screen Minder will return to the opening screen.
This will permit resetting the the SetUp functions, running
the Screen Saver, or Launching another program.
EXITing PROGRAM:
Press the RESTORE Key, the Termination Screen will be
displayed. The Termination Screen permits about 50 seconds to
enter the password and press the EXIT Key before starting the
Screen Saver.
FEATURES on Screen Minder
SCREEN SAVER - This is the default screen.
NOTE PAD - Activated in the SetUp by a switch.
CLOCK - Activated in the SetUp by a switch.
ASCI Editor - Activated in the SetUp by a switch.
Disk Lockout - PassWord prevents unwanted users from
having access to disk when used in connection
with switches.
Break Protection - The Break Key is deactivated to
prevent unwanted access to disk by stopping
Screen Minder.
Calculator - On registered copy.
ClipBoard View and Edit - On registered Copy
Launch Program Select List - On registered Copy
Launch Program Pramaters - On registered Copy
PassWord Set and Change - On registered Copy
