  8. ProBuilder 2.0 is the simplest, easiest-to-use data 
  9. dictionary for your FoxPro 2.x applications.  Getting up and
  10. running is a quick and (relatively) painless process.  Just 
  11. follow the simple steps outlined below, and get to work with
  12. the power of ProBuilder!

  17. You can install ProBuilder in two ways.
  18.  
  19.         1)  The simplest is to copy the PROBUILD.APP file
  20.             from the distribution diskette into your FoxPro
  21.             directory.

  25.         2)  If you want to work with the ProBuilder project 
  26.             and source code files, use this approach:
  27.  
  28.               a.  At the DOS prompt, change to your FoxPro
  29.                   directory (which we'll assume here is 
  30.                   C:\FOXPRO2).
  31.  
  32.               b.  Insert the distribution diskette in the
  33.                   appropriate drive (we'll assume here that 
  34.                   it's the A: drive).
  35.  
  36.               c.  Type "A:SETUP" at the DOS prompt.  This 
  37.                   will create a PROBUILD directory under the 
  38.                   current directory, and install the 
  39.                   ProBuilder project, application, and 
  40.                   source files in directories underneath.

  42. Either way, all you need to do to run the application
  43. is to type "DO probuild.app" in the FoxPro command window.

  49. * Why register?
  50. If you register your copy of ProBuilder, you will be 
  51. eligible for:
  52.  
  53.    - reduced cost upgrades to future versions
  54.    - lifetime technical support
  55.    - early access to the latest TWS programs
  56.  
  57. The cost of registering is so small, and the benefits so 
  58. large, that it doesn't pay not to register!

  61. * How do I register?
  62. TWS has a unique method of registering our software.  Rather
  63. than have you sit down with a pen and paper and fill in the 
  64. blanks, registration is a simple FoxPro application included 
  65. on the source diskette (the source code for this mini-app
  66. is not included).

  68. Start the registration software by typing A:REGISTER.APP 
  69. (assuming A: is the diskette drive holding the distribution 
  70. diskette) from the FoxPro command window.  The app that 
  71. follows will ask you basic information about you, your 
  72. computer, how you heard about TWS and ProBuilder, and more.
  73.  
  74. When you're finished completing the information, select the 
  75. Print push button.  This calls a printing dialog (the source 
  76. code for this can be found in the REPORTS screen set in the
  77. PROBUILD\SCREENS directory) wherein you can choose how to 
  78. print out the registration form.  This will also determine 
  79. what process you will use to forward your registration:
  80.  
  81.         1)  Printing to paper allows you to register by
  82.             mailing the form to TWS via the post office.
  83.  
  84.         2)  Printing to a file on disk allows you to create 
  85.             a short text file that you can then send to TWS 
  86.             directly via CompuServe.  The cost of sending
  87.             this tiny file via CIS is the same (or less) 
  88.             than mailing it via the post office, and results
  89.             in immediate registration.

  91. Your serial number is branded onto the registration 
  92. software, and written on your distribution diskette.  Please 
  93. refer to it whenever contacting TWS about upgrades or 
  94. technical support.

  99. ProBuilder holds all definitions for your databases in a 
  100. dictionary file called STRUCTUR.DBF.  This file is created 
  101. automatically at startup, or when you choose to create 
  102. another dictionary file for another application under
  103. development.

  105. If you have existing projects (with databases already on 
  106. disk) whose structures you wish to import to ProBuilder, the 
  107. Import menu bar on the main ProBuilder menu will perform 
  108. that function for you.

  111. topic in ProBuilder's on-line help system (or, if you 
  112. installed the support files, the PB_HELP.DBF file).
