ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Help for PMTEX ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The program PM-TeX controls the use of everyday used programs for TeX. These
include editors, TeX-interpreters, printer- and previewdrivers. The program is
conceived for the emTeX-system, but can easily be configured for other systems.
By pushing the menu-item file you can select the TeX-file to be processed.
All programs are executed by pushing the according buttons (Edit, TeX, etc.). A
new session is activated for each program to allow concurrency. Switching to
active sessions can be performed by pushing the buttons in the mainwindow (e.g.
you are working with a fullscreen editor: switch to PM-TeX by pressing ALT+Esc,
switch back to the editor by pushing the Edit-button in the mainwindow).
Warning: Terminating PM-TeX closes all active sessions. A message box is
displayed and you have to acknowledge your choice.
By pushing the menu-item Settings you can configure the program. You have to
specify the corresponding program-names and their arguments. A mixture of DOS-
(.EXE and .COM) and OS/2-programs is supported. By selecting save settings all
selections made for the menu-items Settings and Options, the window position
and the TeX-format are saved and restored for the next PM-TeX session.
The main-menu offers buttons for the following sessions:
Editor-session
TeX-session
Preview-session
Print-session
TeuTeX prescanner
ALD-TeX prescanner
Besides it is possible to choose the TeX-format for the specified input file by
selecting the corresponding buttons.
Right to the Editor-, TeX-, Preview- und Print-buttons appears a status
indicator for every session:
- no session activated.
x session already activated.
! a session is activated but should be closed because the corresponding
input file has changed.
Some of the buttons and menu-items of the mainwindow can be accessed by
striking special keys.
Warning: The old-status is not displayed for an input file updated with an
editor-session. This version doesn't support long file names.
If you are used to PM-TeX 2.0, new features will give you a list on
enhancements to Version 2.1.
