  12.        You are now viewing the user information.  It is accessed
  13.        from the secondary menu screen by selecting User.  An
  14.        alternative method is to print a copy of the file named
  15.        info.out on a line printer using the Print Manual command
  16.        below.  A hard copy is thus provided for easy reference.

  18.        The User Manual is displayed in parts.  The Menu Screen
  19.        allows access to each of the 18 sections one at a time.
  20.        Select the section and it will be displayed on the screen.
  21.        An alternate means of displaying a particular user manual
  22.        section is with the F1 Key.  Striking F1 at any time will
  23.        cause the appropriate manual section to be displayed that
  24.        corresponds to the user screen currently in use.  A word of
  25.        caution about the F1 Key invocation.  The manual section is
  26.        displayed in reverse video.  Some color combinations cause
  27.        strange and unreadable text.  The user may need to choose
  28.        other color combinations in order to get legible on line
  29.        help displays.

  31.        If there is insufficient RAM to load the user manual into
  32.        memory, a message will print stating this fact, and
  33.        recommending that the hard copy of the user manual be used.
  34.        Machines with the minimum of 448K RAM may see this message.

  36.        11.2  Registration

  38.        Selecting Registration on the secondary menu will display
  39.        the registration information of the program owner, including
  40.        this copy's serial number.  The ShareWare version shows the
  41.        developer as the registered owner.

  43.        11.3  Print Manual

  45.        A hard copy is printed on your line printer of the User
  46.        Manual.  An opportunity is given to cancel the request since
  47.        the printing operation takes several minutes once it begins.

  49.        11.4  Determine Disk Space
  50.  
  51.        Reports to the user the amount of disk space on the
  52.        designated data drive.  The number is given in bytes.

  54.        11.5  Free Memory

  56.        Reports the amount of free RAM space that is available for
  57.        use by database files.  The number is given Kbytes.

  74.        11.6  Calculator
  75.  
  76.        A built in calculator is made available for simple
  77.        arithmetic calculations.  Add (+), Subtract (-), Multiply
  78.        (*), Divide (/) and Clear (C) are provided.  To exit the
  79.        calculator, enter a q or Q when in the operator input mode.
  80.        The calculator is available from the Misc Screen by
  81.        selecting Calculator, or by depressing the F2 key any time
  82.        on any screen.

  84.        The calculator is intended for monetary calculations.  All
  85.        calculated results and user entries are rounded off to two
  86.        decimal places.  User entered data may contain up to eight
  87.        significant figures with up to two decimal places.
  88.        Calculations that exceed 8 significant figures will cause
  89.        "Error" to display in the Results window.

  91.        If the F2 key is depressed when you are about to enter an
  92.        amount in the case of any Personal Checking transaction or a
  93.        Budget Cash transaction, the total or last calculation made
  94.        will be entered into the amount field displayed when the
  95.        calculator was invoked.  In other words, the results of any
  96.        calculations will be entered directly into the transaction.
  97.        Invocations of the calculator elsewhere result in the
  98.        calculations being lost after the Calculator is exited.

  100.        11.7  Order Form

  102.        Making this selection brings up the Order form screen that
  103.        will generate and print an Invoice to register for the
  104.        Official version of PMIS.  The user is prompted for their
  105.        name, address, city, state, zipcode, quantity, and disk
  106.        size.  This information is then used to print the completed
  107.        Invoice on the user's printer.  This order form along with a
  108.        check or money order for the total amount should then be
  109.        forwarded to the author at the location given on the form.
  110.        Within 24 hours of receipt, the author will forward the
  111.        latest version of PMIS with all the latest feature additions
  112.        and improvements to the person whose name is on the order
  113.        form.
