Marriage Search - Version 1.3
28 April 1991
The Personal Ancestry File (PAF) genealogy system marketed
by The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints is the most
popular genealogy program on the market today. One of its short-
comings, however, it offers no way to search its files for marriage
data. I have written a program to overcome this problem.
These are preliminary instructions for running MSRCH.EXE.
It is a program that searches PAF files for marriage data. The
following is a brief listing of the options:
1. Path - lets you enter the path to the PAF files and save it
for later usage if desired.
2. Location - allows the user to enter a marriage location for
which to limit the search. For instance if you enter al in the
location field, marriages from ALabama; MarshALl Co., TN; ALice, TX;
etc. would be found if they were in the files.
3. Low date - allows the user to set a lower date for which to
limit the search.
4. High date - allows the user to set an upper date for which to
limit the search.
5. Groom's name - allows the user to enter a name (or portion of
a name) for which to limit the search.
6. Bride's name - allows the user to enter a name (or portion of
a name) for which to limit the search.
7. Output - allows the user to direct the output to screen, disk,
or printer.
This program is marketed under the shareware concept. If you use
it and find it helps in your research, a donation of $20.00 would be
appreciated toward it's continued development.
