  9.         PAF Review contains descriptive information about all known
  10.         shareware and freeware utilities that work with version 2.2 of the
  11.         Personal Ancestral File (PAF).  PAF is published by the Church of
  12.         Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and is widely used by
  13.         genealogical researchers to maintain records of their "roots". 
  14.         Programs are included in PAF Review whether they work directly
  15.         with PAF data or indirectly through the GEDCOM files PAF uses as
  16.         an interface to other genealogical programs.  These programs
  17.         generally provide new ways of displaying, printing or working with
  18.         data that resides in a PAF data base or a GEDCOM file.  Although
  19.         some of the utilities might also be useful to someone who uses
  20.         another genealogical database program, the comments in PAF Review
  21.         primarily relate to their use with PAF.

  23.         There are 91 entries in this edition of PAF Review, up from 48 in
  24.         the last version.  There were 44 additions, 1 deletion (because of
  25.         questions on it's shareware status), and 11 of the previous
  26.         entries have been updated to describe newer versions.  Some of the
  27.         new entries are new programs but in most cases I am just "newly
  28.         aware" of them or they represent data transfer utilities that were
  29.         intentionally excluded in the previous edition.

  31.         Each file in PAF Review can be displayed on your monitor or
  32.         printed by copying the file to your printer.  EXAMPLES FOLLOW:

  34.         To display this file on your monitor, use a program like Buerg's
  35.         LIST, or use the following DOS command:

  37.            TYPE README.PRV | MORE

  39.         To print this file, use the command:

  41.            COPY README.PRV PRN

  43.         PLEASE NOTE: Each of the files in PAF Review ends with the page
  44.         eject character to allow unattended printing by using the copy
  45.         command.  If you print them with a program that adds an eject at
  46.         the end of each document, such as the DOS PRINT command, you will
  47.         have a blank page between each.

  53.                         utilities described, solicits your support of
  54.                         quality shareware, tells how you can contribute

  56.            PAFRV.SUM    A summary of each known PAF utility (11 pages)
  57.            PAFRV.IDX    A category index (1 page)
  58.            AHNDES.INF   A one page description of the utility "AHNDES".
