  26.         LOWCASE is used to convert the names in  your PAF database to
  27.         lower case.

  32.         After reading many queries on a program to convert the names in
  33.         the PAF NAME2.DAT file to lower case, LOWCASE was written. There
  34.         is no error checking and program may crash if it runs into bad
  35.         data in the NAME2.DAT file.  Be sure you are working on a BACKUP
  36.         copy of the NAME2.DAT file and check the modified file with FRCHK
  37.         before discarding your original NAME2.DAT file.

  39.         Some names may not be correctly converted.  MCDERMITT will be
  40.         converted as McDermitt.  MC DERMITT will be converted as Mc
  41.         Dermitt.  MACDERMITT will be converted as Macdermitt.  MAC DERMITT
  42.         will be converted as Mac Dermitt.   J.J.CHASE will be converted as
  43.         J.J.Chase.  J. J. CHASE will be converted as J. J. Chase. JOHN
  44.         HENRY, ESQ will be converted as John Henry, Esq,  JOHN HENRY,ESQ
  45.         will be converted as John Henry,Esq, O'MALLEY will end up
  46.         O'Malley, and JONES-BUCK will end up Jones-Buck.   JOHN'S TAVERN
  47.         will be converted as John's Tavern.

  49.         Names in parenthes or with a preceding question mark will be
  50.         converted as (WIDOW SMITH) to (Widow Smith) and ?WIDOW SMITH to
  51.         ?Widow Smith.  Roman Numerals in the title field or in a name
  52.         field, if separated from other data by a space, will be left in
  53.         upper case.  This will hold for those numerals up to XXX (30
  54.         arabic).  Therefore, a name like KING JAMES VII will be converted
  55.         as King James III.

  57.         The two letter upper case postal abbreviations for the U.S. states
  58.         will be maintained properly.  MA will remain MA,  N.Y. will remain
  59.         N.Y. and NY will remain NY.
