  26.         A set of programs for use in making logical checks of the 
  27.         validity of the genealogical record files created by PAF.

  32.         FAMCHECK compares the dates of certain events (i.e marriage,
  33.         birth, death) to see that they are logically consistent.  The
  34.         criteria are largely arbitrary and will often cite a valid set of
  35.         dates as errors.  However, it will more often find typographical
  36.         errors, assignment of individuals to the wrong families, etc. 
  37.         Following are some of the criteria assumed: 
  38.         1.  The husband should be at least 16 years of age at marriage.
  39.         2.  The wife should be at least 14 years of age at marriage.
  40.         3.  An individual cannot die before birth.
  41.         4.  An individual should be born after the marriage date of
  42.             his/her parents.
  43.         5.  At the birth of a child the mother should not be more than 50
  44.             years of age.
  45.         6.  At the birth of a child the father should not be more than 70
  46.             years of age.
  47.         7.  Children should be listed in order of birth. (Eldest first)
  48.         8.  Individuals do not usually live beyond 100 years of age.
  49.         9.  A child cannot be born to a mother who has previously died. 
  50.         10. A child cannot be born to a father who has died more than one
  51.             year previously.
  52.         11. An individual cannot be christened before birth.        
  53.         12. An individual cannot be christened after death.        
  54.         13. A child is normally christened after the marriage date.
  55.         14. An individual should not be buried before death.
  56.         15. Ordinarily an individual will not be buried more than on year
  57.             after death.
