  3. re: OS/2 v2.0  "sessions" memory sizing with WordPerfect for Windows

  5. By default, OS/2 will run Windows as if using a 2 Mb system in standard mode.  As we know, this is not a very useful configuration for Windows.  To increase the memory size for Windows from WordPerfect, use the right mouse button to choose "Settings."

  7. 1) Choose "Sessions."
  8.  
  9. 2) Click the button for "Win OS/2 Settings."
  10.  
  11. 3) A slide bar comes up for "extended memory dpmi."  Move the slide bar from 2 Mb to 3 Mb.

  13. 4) Go to the box for "EMS Memory Limit."  Change the limit from 2034 to 2,300 K.

  15. 5) Push the "Save" button.  
  16.  
  17. 6) Issue the "Close" command.

  19. 7) Lastly, issue the "Shut down" command.

  22. The changes to the memory settings should now be changed.
  23.  
  24. Apparently, OS/2 has problems if it allows too much memory to Windows.  I don't know what these problems are.
