PLEASE NOTE:
ALWAYS BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING NEW VERSIONS !!
v1.2 Major Changes to the Config file. See Docs, read "Blackout Periods"
v1.3 This version requires that you run a program called MMCONV.EXE.
It will convert your MAST.DAT (user database file) to allow for the
addition of the 3 lines of personal narrative your users can now
enter. All you do is execute the MMCONV in the same directory as the
MMAST.DAT file. When it is finished you will not have to ever run it
again. ONLY VALID IF YOU HAVE BEEN RUNNING v1.0,1.1 or 1.2.
IF YOU ARE INSTALLING v1.3 or later, FOR THE FIRST TIME, DO NOT
RUN THE CONVERSION PROGRAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
v1.5 Configuration file change to eliminate Adopt-A-Door entry, Add
another entry for Message Center Functions and yet another option to
control number of messages allowed in database. SEE DOCS!
Another CONVERSION pgm needs to be run (MMIXCVRT) to convert existing
MMAST.INX files.!!!!!! If upgrading from v1.4 or earlier, you MUST
run the conversion program.
MMAINT (maintenance program): Changes made to Command line parameters.
Read History AND DOCS....
v1.7 If you have an existing Message base, you MUST run MMAINT and select
option #3 (Recreate Message Indexes).
Config file change.. remove line #10 (number of messages in database)
==>>> v3.0 Config file change.. see DOCS!
You MUST run MMDATCVT.EXE to convert your EXISITING MMAST.DAT
database file. DO NOT run it more than ONCE!
The EXE files are much larger than prior versions. We are now
using a new version of the programming language as well as
incorporating the RUN TIME modules into the EXE's. This will
result in faster EXE loading and execution.
Once you have performed the conversion, you may delete all the EXE's
EXCEPT for MMAKER.EXE and MMAINT.EXE
v3.1 The following procedeure must be followed to upgrade to v3.1:
(a) Backup the entire MatchMaker Directory
(b) Run MM31CVT.EXE to convert the MatchMaker database. Please note
that this will also DELETE your exisitng message database.
(c) Update the MatchMaker configuration file(s) with 2 additional
entries. See documentation for the changes.
(d) Run the maintenance (MMAINT) program and choose option # 7 to
create downloadable question files AND choose option #5 to
recreate the User Indexes.
(e) Review the PROTOCOL.DAT file in conjunction with the MatchMaker
documentation and make any changes to reflect the file transfer
protocols you wish to support. Also be sure to check out the
supplied protocol batch files for any changes. If you add any
protocols, be SURE to ADD the corresponding batch files.
