Intel Flash Screen Saver - How to use with Windows
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Compatibility:
The Flash Screen Saver is designed for Windows version 3.0 and higher.
Other Screen Savers:
The Intel Flash Screen Saver will NOT work properly if there is another
windows screen saver already installed. (i.e. AfterDark (TM), Pyro (TM),
etc.) You must TURN OFF all other screen savers before you run the Intel
Flash Screen Saver.
Creating a Program Item for the Screen Saver:
It is easiest to use the Intel Flash Screen Saver if you first create a
new program item for it. To make a new program item for the screen saver:
1. Open the program group window where you want the screen saver
to appear. (Windows Applications is a good group for the screen
saver to be in.)
2. Choose NEW from the File menu.
A dialogue box will appear called New Program Object.
3. Select Program Item and click OK.
4. A new dialogue box will appear called Program Item Properties.
In the Description field, type FLASH SCREEN SAVER.
In the Command Line field, type C:\FLASH\IOSCR.EXE.
In the Working Directory field, type C:\FLASH. (Windows 3.1)
Click OK.
5. A new icon with the name Screen Saver will appear in the Program
Group where you installed the Flash screen saver.
6. Double-click the new Flash icon to enable the screen saver.
Setting the Delay:
The screen saver will start when there is no mouse or keyboard
activity within the defined delay. The default delay is 4 minutes.
To set the delay:
1. Double-click the minimized FLASH icon.
A black window with a menu bar will appear.
2. Click on the Saver menu bar option.
3. Choose SET DELAY from the Saver menu.
4. Enter the delay you want in minutes and fractions of a minute
(i.e. 3.5 for 3 minutes and 30 seconds), then click OK.
5. Minimize the Flash window.
Password Protection:
1. Double-click the minimized FLASH icon.
A black window with a menu bar will appear.
2. Click on the Saver menu bar option.
3. Choose PASSWORD from the Saver menu.
4. Activate the Check for Password by marking the check box.
4. Enter your old password (just hit tab if none) and your
new password twice.
5. Minimize the Flash window.
NOTE: If you forget your password, delete the FLASH.INI file
in the C:\FLASH directory.
Exiting the Screen Saver:
The screen saver will exit when it detects any keyboard activity. To
make the screen saver exit upon mouse movement, you must first run a DOS
mouse driver from the DOS prompt. Use the Saver menu to set a password
if you wish.
