Sausalito, CA - January 6, 1993 - Autodesk today announced that
AutoCAD Release 12 for HP-UX is available for Hewlett-Packard
company's HP Apollo 9000 Series 700 workstations, including models
710, 720, 730 and 715. The English-language version of AutoCAD
Release 12 for HP's PA-RISC (Precision Architecture-Reduced
Instruction Set Computing) workstations can now be obtained in the
United States, Canada and Latin America through Authorized Autodesk

HP-UX is based on and fully compatible with the UNIX operating system

AutoCAD Release 12 for HP-UX incorporates the full suite of
innovative AutoCAD Release 12 features, including fast performance,

supported as well, including AutoLISP, the AutoCAD Development System
(ADS), null display support and enhanced 8-bit font support for
internationalization. Also shipped with AutoCAD Release 12 for HP-UX
is Autodesk's optional, integrated solid modeler, Advanced Modeling
Extension (AME) Release 2.1.
"The HP Series 700 workstation is a strategic platform for us," said
Len Rand, vice president of the Autodesk Design Automation Group.
"Being able to run AutoCAD Release 12 on this platform is critical
for many of our customers working in commercial, technical and
industrial environments who need a very high level of speed and
accuracy in their design and analysis work. We think they will find
their needs more than met by the performance and other features of
this product."
"Our relationship with Autodesk has been instrumental in helping HP
secure a stronghold in the CAD workstation market," said Thomas E.
Bailey, market development manager for HP's Workstation Systems
Group. "AutoCAD Release 12 running on our recently introduced Series
700 workstations provides users with a win-win situation--a robust,
full-featured CAD solution and a high-performance desktop workstation
family that meet the needs of customers in a broad range of CAD
environments."
In addition, this new product offers:
